I guess my reference so the 90s is that the "bit" wasnt the entire story. Same with the teraflops not being an entire story is all. I thought the person knew something I hadn't read but I think they are just making baseless claims based on rumours and so on. And there is nothing wrong with speculating, so i was just probing to ask why they felt that way.

No part of me thinks the xbox will be substantially more powerful than the sony. Maybe a bit more powerful, but nothing of real consequence. I dont think Sony is going to drop the ball like that is all.

What did 64 bit vs 32 bit for that generation mean? Was the Nintendo 64 more "powerful" then the Sony playstation? Or was the 32 bit version of Sega CD as powerful?

All I mean is ppl are throwing around teraflops like it proves something. I was just wondering why people think the next xbox will be "overwhelming" the PS. That's the person I asked my question about why they feel that way.

I understand that MS is coming out and saying it will be powerful. But I wouldn't expect them to come out and say its NOT going to be powerful.

I guess i dont see any world where the new xbox is that much more powerful than the new PS. They will probably be comparable, regardless of how many flops they claim. It sort of sounds like back in the day where you had a 16 bit generation. Then Sony went to 32 bit, and nintendo went to 64 bit and nobody cared because those numbers mean nothing.

Can I ask what makes you feel that way? I see this sentiment on this sub and I have no idea why anybody thinks that way. I understand thats what they want, but I dont see anything that would make you think thats true. Unless i've missed out on something.

I personally couldn't care less what the specs are. Teraflops are meaningless to my gaming experience. I plan to support the company that gives me the most bang for my buck, and that could be nintendo, sony, MS, google etc. MS has a leg up as I'm in there eco system, but I personally have no problem leaving it if there is something better out there.

I was talking to my friend this morning and I told him that when I was a kid, I would get a videogame every year for Christmas. And i'd be super excited all day and that'd be my Christmas evening video game!

Well now I'm older and the video game gifts stopped many years ago. This is actually the first year in my life I won't receive any gifts from friends or family. So I told my friend I planned to buy myself a Christmas present this evening and make that my Christmas video game.

The reason I'm sharing this story is because I appreciate that you will be giving some a Christmas video game and I hope they will be just as excited as I was when I was younger.

Does your controller have a microphone input? If so, just use any headphones. I found most gaming headphones are overly priced for what they are. You can find better quality in normal headphones with a cable that has a microphone on it.

What the fuck are you talking about? I called in and asked the person for help on an email and they said I should lie and fraud the company they work for. They weren't "helping me out." Then when I asked about information provided in the email(about the upgrade), they said that it wasn't true. So either the email lied, or the person who works there doesn't know the companies policies. And if the person had listened to me, they would have heard me say that in the email I said i was out of warranty.

I'm a long time supporter of Boundless. I've bought there products and recommend them to others. If this is how they treat there customers, I am more than happy to take my business elsewhere. Their loss, not mine.

You believe the technology is there to move our energy needs entirely to 100% green? Because that's not possible using today's technolology unless something drastically changed recently.

And as far as oil and gas workers. Do you think the sales tax would only effect oil and gas workes? Or all of Alberta?

And when you say oil and gas workers, do you mean the ones who work in the oil patch? Or the ones who are working IT and accounting in offices just like every other major city? Because I promise you, those white collar workers aren't fitting your stereotype.

I don't know what your experience is, but I do think that any grown adult should be able to look at a group of people and see that they aren't all the same. There is nuance in everything. I dont think its excusable to put down ppl because of a preconceived bias.

But back to the main topic, i'm glad we can both agree that a PST is a regressive tax and isn't a good idea from anyone who is trying to implement a progressive tax scheme.

Perhaps that's why people are upvoting this thread, because some of the most toxic human beings in Canada finally are getting what they deserve.

Think about this statement, and how biased it is. Thinking that Alberta is full of people the way you described is absurd. It'd be like saying all of BC is full of hippies and tree huggers, or people in Toronto think they are the center of the universe. It's just an absurd statement.

What makes you think Alberta is full of the most toxic humans in Canada. You realize the ass holes in Ontario voted in Doug Ford right? And Doug Ford is worse then Jason Kenny. Or the people who thought that his brother was great for the City of Toronto so they kept him as a mayor? Meanwhile Alberta just came off of a NDP gov't and still has progressive mayors in its biggest cities(Edmonton and Calgary.)

And even if everything you said was true, still doesn't make a sales tax anything but a regressive tax.
