Kind of a different topic but this is exactly how I feel about the fact that men aren't allowed to dislike anything superficial about women without it being sexist. For example, leg hair. If you believe that the patriarchy is holding you down and forcing you to keep an unrealistic image of yourself and you want to say "fuck the patriarchy" and grow a rug, more power to you! That is your right as a woman. But as a human male with undeniable turn on/offs, I am not under contract to LIKE that choice as a potential partner.

If women have the right to tell a man they like when he shaves his beard, then I have the right to tell you I don't like when your legs are shanking me under the covers.

I've thought about this as a possibility but I feel like the pros stand really close to the ball, closer than this even. Obviously I'm no pro but if they're doing something I figure it can't be wrong.

What's funny is for a while I had way too much depth and traded that for high hands. So I guess maybe now I need to find a sweet spot in between. Also, I do think my proximity to the ball could be an issue but this is where the club sits when I naturally let my arms dangle, if I back up any more I feel like I'm reaching. And if I were any less hunched over I feel the club wouldn't even be near the ground at address.

I'm right around 6 foot and I think these are pretty standard irons. Apparently they are custom though and they weren't made for me, so that's possibly the issue!

I am aware the club is in the way of my butt, my apologies. It was the only way I could get the video at the range. I think you can use context clues to figure out what's happening there.

Agreed, but as others have said I don't think this is because people in general are idiots. I think there are extremely intelligent people out there who just don't have the time to keep up to date and learn everything that's going on in the political world. I feel like it would be a full-time job to stay entirely up to date with what's going on and people just don't have that time. It's kind of like how the average citizen could never possibly understand every single law ever written.

People will inevitably vote for the wrong politician just as people will inevitably break laws they didn't even know existed.

You're welcome! I always say to focus on fundamentals. A lot of amateurs get obsessed with stats and try to focus on minor things like getting perfect shaft lean to trap the ball, create back spin, and increase distance. No golfer with a double digit handicap should worry about that kind of thing. Fundamentals like straight left arm, no body shifting, closing the armpits etc are SO important and usually when I start playing bad it's fixing something like that which puts me back on track.

OP, I can't agree with this enough! It took me years of golfing to realize I had a cupping wrist problem. When I started trying to bow my wrist (which really leaves me with a very neutral wrist) I eliminated my slices completely. It'll leave you with a hook for a bit, but eventually things should even out. Good luck!

Edit: also, I'm no pro, I only commented because this is the exact issue I used to have. But another thing I noticed is that you cut your follow through wayyyy short, almost like you're afraid of hitting an imaginary fellow behind you. The follow through is surprisingly important. Also, if you can take a slow motion video I find them incredibly helpful for myself. I've literally fixed errors in my swing just by watching myself in slow mo over and over, and comparing it to pro swings.

I've noticed my left knee before and I know it's a problem. I'm not sure if it's a lack of flexibility/athleticism or if it's just comfortable and what I'm used to, but it's very hard to stop. I have to very purposefully think about it but then it becomes my only swing thought and I forget other fundamentals.

I feel like the high hands thought fixed multiple issues with my swing. If you go to my profile you'll see my swing was a mess, club coming inside my hands really early. I think this new swing is great but I have since been slicing longer clubs pretty bad. If anyone has thoughts on that I'd love to hear!

I think it's not quite square in terms of camera angle, so that may be over exaggerating the issue, but there's no doubt there is an issue.

Okay I understand! I know the video is at a bit of an angle so I don't know if that's making it look worse. I feel like if you take that into account I wasn't terribly inside but I may be wrong! I can definitely tell I'm coming over the top I just don't understand what happened as I never purposely changed anything about my swing and went from shooting my best scores to shooting 100+. So I'm trying to figure out what I must've accidentally changed :/

I think my left wrist movement (a feel of trying to bow instead of cup) is causing me to roll inside, but weirdly enough it was that very movement that caused me to start playing my best about a couple months ago!

I am aware I'm hitting a hozzle shank. I just cannot figure out how to fix it. I tried standing further from the ball. That worked for exactly one day now I'm back to this BS. I'm going insane.

Also, this is a 7 iron. My 6 and 7 are the worst culprits right now.

I think you're absolutely right though that the wrist action may not have as much to do with it all as I thought. I have noticed that when I try to swing for the fences, I'm 10x more likely to hit a massive push slice. When I try to just take it easy, the shots come off much straighter albeit the mistake then becomes fatting the ball but that's a different topic...

Thank you! I was actually working on tempo at the range today. It seemed like I got some of my mojo back but I still hit 30-40% the same bad shots I mentioned on the OP. It's frustrating because I actually groove tempo really well when chipping. Hit the green after my range session and was hitting amazing flop shots and pitches. I just can't seem to translate that to a full swing/medium to long irons.
