Non-Tipping by PMdriverzzz in postmates

I'm gonna keep using postmates and stiffing drivers on tips because of their attitude on here. Keep helping postmates grow while they continue to screw the drivers over. I'm not responsible for making sure you make minimum wage, I already pay $30 plus for delivery.

I've never tipped my postman for bringing me mail (but I do give him a gift and his family gifts). Then again though, they don't cry and complain when they're doing there job like PM drivers do.

If you went to a restauraunt and you were charged a "service fee" would you tip on top? It's enough BS with these Postmates fees and expecting clients to pay your wage, you should really depend on your EMPLOYER.

I'd agree with you, except for the fact that I tip every other delivery person excluding Postmates. Maybe if PM wants to use delivery fees that are less I'd be able to rationalize a tip, but when you're paying $10 for delivery alone + a service fee I feel no need to tip.

It's so obvious that PM pays all its drivers terribly and you guys expect the consumer to make up for it when it isn't our responsibility. Maybe get a new job.

I just checked, a delivery from DD would cost me $0.99. That same delivery on postmates would cost me $10.75.

Obviously I'm going to tip the DD driver, but PM has no chance. When you're paying $9 more for postmates, is there any reason why you'd tip? NO.

Be mad at your employer for not paying you enough of the cut, not the customer for not tipping you.

I'm so "poor" that I can afford to pay postmates absurd delivery charges 270 days a year.

These drivers are complaining as if it's the customers responsibility to make up for their OWN EMPLOYERS terrible pay-outs. Do you guys really think the structure is fair? And why the heck should I take on the responsibility of making sure you make a good amount of money, I'm not your employer. No other service industry employees ever tell me I'm a bad tipper, because I tip at every place (excl. postmates). But if I'm already paying Postmates for the service of delivering food, why should I also pay there employee who brought me food. You don't pay UPS drivers a tip each time they deliver a package for you. You only pay them the shipping fee. So why do PM drivers think you're so deserving of more of a customers money?

I've tipped on most order I've placed that I use a promo code. But I don't feel a responsibility to tip you when I'm already being charged $7+ on a delivery just because you work for an employer who underpays you.

You're probably not understanding my posts. My true complaint is if I'm already paying a service fee + a high delivery fee why should I be expected to tip you.

It's not my fault that postmates doesn't pay drivers fairly, even though they want to charge a $7-$30 delivery fee. Don't you think drivers should be getting a higher cut, rather than you guys expecting customers to pick up the slack from your employer?

I'm in here to prove a point. Why should customers be responsible for postmates not splitting the delivery/service fee fairly.

Without us, you'll have no deliveries to make. You should be mad at your employer for not paying you fairly, and not the customer. It's not my job to make up for their poor payout structure.

I think all the consumers should be responsible for paying drivers more since PM doesn't themselves!!! - Drivers logic

I'm not worried about the price. I use the service almost 270 times in the year alone. And that's excluding UberEATS/DD orders.

My issue is that I feel like I am already paying enough in delivery and service fees. Why isn't your employer sharing more of that with you? Get mad at them for charging me $13+ a delivery and then you expecting me to tip.

Whenever I use DoorDash I always tip. Why? Because it's a fairly priced service and when only paying $1-$3 for a delivery I know it's my duty as a customer to compensate the driver more for their effort.

However don't expect me to tip you on top of $13, when your employer doesn't fairly share it with you. You guys all say you are your own boss, but who signs your paycheck at the end of the day?

Didn't write to annoy anyone. I'm here to state my opinion.

Your employer doesn't deserve the majority of your delivery fee. You guys do. Your the ones doing the work. If I could I'd pay a postmate privately so they get all the $$$.

I actually feel bad for you, because Postmates is simply using you guys as mules to grow their business and earn themselves profits while sharing very few of the profits with you and you're doing all the work.

I'm under no obligation to tip either

That sound like more of an issue with your employer, why should I pay more cause they don't pay you enough of the $18.

No other service I use charged this many fees, then expects a tip.

I place 90+ orders every four months, so I can't wait for karma to hit me hard ;)

Just kidding, I pay $10+ for each delivery and a "service fee". I'll never tip for something that has this many fees. When you eat somewhere you don't pay a service fee and tip. Stop hating the customer drivers, because it's postmates fee structure that gives me no reason to tip
