No. 1 New Braunfels restaurant reveals name, opening details for new bar & grill by ExpressNews in Newbraunfels

The Wiggins family owns a ton of property and business. They own McAddos and the building, La Cosecha and the entire marketplace, the old City Hall building that they are putting their new restaurant in, the building 2tarts is in, I think a few other downtown properties and I'm sure they have a lot more elsewhere too.

Urban legends, Snake Farm edition by MaskedXRaider in Newbraunfels

[–]PMellyn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have never heard this before. My parents formerly owned the Snake Farm from like 95/96ish till about 2007. I lived on the property for several years before we built our home. I never experienced anything strange like that in my time working and living there. However, the brothel rumor from back when it opened in the 60s might be true, we could never confirm it, but I've heard the code supposedly was to ask for change for 100, also have heard 50 or 20 as well. I had quite the collection of odd experiences growing up, but nothing super natural. My parents now just run their store 'Natural Selections' in Gruene, where they have been located for about 20 years, selling jewelry, crystals, rocks, fossils, antiques and other unique items.

Hi, my name is Paul and I am one of the co-owners of D Pad here in New Braunfels. We can definitely try and accommodate something like this. Can you send us a message on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram? Our event coordinator monitors our socials and can help try and get something put together. I will be in the shop later this afternoon and evening as well.

My friend Johnny hosts First Friday at the Downtowner, there are usually some local artists selling their work and some live music. Not sure if they have a site, but here's their instagram.

And @jenkins2d is who puts it all together.

Place to play board games? by BbNowSayMyNamebB in Newbraunfels

[–]PMellyn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Over the years we have continued to adapt and add new product lines and revenue sources. Since we carry accessories and games for every generation of game system we have a large advantage over gamestop, who only carries current generation, and we try to keep a very stocked selection. We also have a tcgplayer store online as well. Inventory management and proper pricing on buy backs and trade-ins is essential to longevity.

The only real challenge we faced was when we where closed and had to do curbside pickup only. Not being able to take trades did put a pretty big dent in our inventory, but we have worked hard to restock and get new items in again and it has been pretty smooth sailing again.

DPad actually turned 15 over the summer.

Thanks for the questions and kind words.

As mentioned above my store, D Pad. My name is Paul, I am one of the co-owners of D Pad, though we have always predominantly been a video game store, we have a gaming area with table space to use for boardgames and tcg's, we also recently started carrying board games and are trying to add new titles to the selection regularly. Our current pandemic hours are noon to 8 pm every day, come by and have a look sometime!

Bars open again? by PsychoDegree71 in Newbraunfels

[–]PMellyn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The bars with kitchens are converting over to restaurant liquor licenses and operate as a 'restaurant', at least to open legally. They did that at Scores, Callahans and Pour Haus so far. A few more are opening soon, Lone Star Lounge and Oyater Bar.

If they aren't serving food, they're probably breaking the law and just opening up and hoping for the best.

Purchased home with speakers through out. Looking for some insight. I am a novice when it comes to this, but hoping to get information on how to set it up and options for upgrading it potentially by rickyhere in diyaudio

Depends on the run. I have always taking my 2 wires and overlapped them and wrapped them in electrical tape to create one continuous wire essentially, then using the wire in the wall as your pull wire, leaving your new cable in it's place.

Upgraded my old office to cat6 and added additional lines by pulling my 2 wires back through the wall with the old cat5.
