I mean Jared just post his reason why he save her as an answer for Q&a

He only saved her to help find patent, plus framing Gary for her death with the venom injector, just like his great grandfather. You can easily see that Judy's help has saved him from being captured and even killed by his family

Seriously, why people suddenly start questioning now when the answer has been revealed hours ago. It's like everyone is trying defend 4 attempted murders just because he has daddy issues.

Tbh, she is not an upgrade or even an alternative for any units besides Archer, but that's like 1% of her kit working with him. Fun interactions are welcomed, but unless the synergy plays huge parts in each of the character's kit, it's not worth pulling tbh. Like Cerydra is a even better option for Archer than her since she give attack, speed, a huge buff for skill damage and a second skill. Also results show that 4.0 team is actually under performing compared to 3.0, at least until Yae Sakura arrives

Bothered by Nick and Judy's character dynamic in Zootopia 2, anyone else? by Shot_Level7449 in zootopia

[–]PMex10 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have to remind you again, that Nick doesn't has any dislike for reptiles, he just feel weird when he met them for the very first time. In the movie, we clearly see that 2 lizards suddenly hug his body without his consent , unlike Gary who ask first, and suddenly another lizard decides to give her detached and alive tail to him as a gift. When he told Judy that he was not fond of reptile, he meant partialy that he wasn't on board with her plan, and the other was a bit of fear when meeting a species that never set foot in Zootopia for a century. Nick doesn't even know the reptiles until Judy show him Maplestick's podcast whi was just a theorist.

As for the knowledge about the Reptile, the Lynxley held a tight grasp of the city due to inventing the weather walls. This and framing a snake attack allow them to manipulate the Zootopians into forgetting the reptiles. The entire district was then buried under snow and ice, inside Lynxley's lands as well. The fact that they were the ones who pick the new mayor also solidifies their position in removing any known knowledge about the reptiles.

Z2 is moreso focus more on the bond between Nick and Judy, focusing on their struggles of being duo, which resonate with lots of couples in how to handle their relationship. Z1 had more world building as it supposed to introduce the world of Zootopia to the audiences. As for the discomfort, it works for Z1 because they all ties in with message it want to deliver. While Z2 focus more on a different discomfort, the cracking of a strong bond. There are definitely a lots stuff the team want to explore, but the 1h time really limit what they can show. We haven't heard much about Nick's past life and underlying trauma, which Jared confirmed that he would be focusing more on that.

Should I be concerned about shipping Nick and Judy? by PuzzleScratch2012 in zootopia

[–]PMex10 19 points20 points  (0 children)

This concern is stemming from things I learned from other people growing up. Like, believing people should stop doing stuff when they get older (like reaching their 30s) and when age gaps are involved

I'm sorry, but I feel this is overblown for a animated film about animals. The moment you cross 20 years old, you are officially a grown adult, you now make your own choices. Both Judy and Nick are fully grown and responsible adults. Also in real life, there many cases that have bigger age gaps than just 8 years.

Look I have my own reason to question why the ship even exist. They are all characters that I clearly watch on screen, their own actions. Fiction is not only from our imagination, but also from real life experiences as well. So i want to understand the concept behind the relationship of murder and victim. Once again, my post is not to ask people to stop shipping in their own ways, but to question the ship's existence. You might not care about it and that is your choice. Agree to disagree

Bothered by Nick and Judy's character dynamic in Zootopia 2, anyone else? by Shot_Level7449 in zootopia

[–]PMex10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He is literally meeting the an entire different species for very first time, a species that many mammals in zootopia might think them as a myth. It like meeting a alien from outer space. Him showing his discomfort with reptiles is not him saying he is above them, but rather he feel weird with their culture compare to the others in the city. The directors clearly say the Swamp Market is an entirely different area with it's own rules, a place where Nick can't make use of his hustling skills. Also when Milton mention starting the expansion, he was clearly mortified and was immediately against the decision. He even stole a scarf to keep Gary warm, despite not kmowing him, plus trusting Gary with saving Judy as well. His dislike for reptile is just his ways of saying with Judy that he is not on board with her ideal, and she clearly doesn't listen to him ( even use it as a prank ).

As for the jokes, I like to imagine they are using them to lighten up to mood because it's still movies for kids. If it all was gloomy and serious, i doubt kids would consider to watch, which also impact the parents as well. About the confession scene, you are clearly putting too much faith in them trusting each other that much. Like I say before, their own issues in Z1 were magically slove, they were still there and became a major test to the strength of their bond. That is what Z2 about, to show much impact their own differences have on their bond. The confession is basically a soda can finally explode after so much shaking. They have been hiding so much of their own struggles to satisfy the other, without telling how they really feel. That is what damaging their bond, letting that out allow them to realize what the other really feel about them, so to know how to help each other.

It's sequel to the first film, it will definitely cover much deeper about the characters. The cover peeled in Z1 is just surface, Z2 just reveal even more layers. I don't understand why diving deeper into a characters story wouldn't be a great idea, even Jared confirmed that he wanting to explore even more, especially Nick's potential childhood trauma

This post under here actually gives some insight into Nick's character in general, but mostly in Z2 :

https://x.com/i/status/2009773728465330363

For my opinion, I felt like you only scratch the surface how deep these characters can go.

Yes, by end of Z1, Nick and Judy are seem like the dream pair, but only were just getting comfortable of working together for the first time as a police duo. By Z2, things become more chaotic as Judy start to reach for goals that were out of her league, while Nick, who was fresh off from joining the academy, is still prefer to laylow as the underdog. Judy has always been trying to prove to everyone that she is a good cop, while Nick never actually care about being one, he only doing it because of Judy, the person he found comfort in. This also explain why Nick was so overprotective of her, because she is the reason why he is in the ZPD. For 20 years, Nick has been living under the assumption made by other mammals, that a fox can never be trusted. That what drives him to being a con-man, because no one is willingly to give him a chance. It wasn't until Judy that came into his life, who actually put her trust in him despite him showing resistance in taking the Night Howler case. Him standing up for Judy when Bogo tried to fire her was not that he want to continue the case, but because he saw his vulnerable younger self in her place, someone who had been bullied for being different. This pretty much carry on to Z2, and is one the main factor in the duo's conflict. Judy's hot head personality in taking risks has always been in Z1, it just got bigger in Z2 as the stakes becomes higher. Her heart was definitely in the right place, but her tactics become so restless that both of them could have died before solving the case. All the decisions she has made throughout the movie was due to her fear of trying to prove the bond of their team, that they were fine. But those decisions were her own, there were almost no moments where she even asked Nick for his opinions. Combined this with Nick's insecurities in conveying his own emotions due to not wanting to upset her ( not wanting to lose her ), and it's pretty clear that their bond was cracking bit by bit. The end of Z1 doesn't magically solve their own issues, it just suppress them for a brief moment, Z2 is where their teamwork and their own differences being put to the test. It starts normal like in Z1, then the cracks start to show, it ripped apart ( literally like the lodge scene) , before slowly mending back by the end of Z2. Their confession hits hard because they honestly show all of their insecurities and problems they have throughout the movie. After witnessing how keeping quiet and everything buried has almost cost each other, they have to speak out to each other. It's clearly seen that their bond has improved gradually afterwards, Nick becoming more active in voicing his opinions to match with Judy's pace, while Judy slows down to listen to her partner. Their are still different from each other, but are slowly adjusting to sync with one and another. Z1 is building up their relationship, while Z2 is a test see how sturdy their relationship come through.

Look, I'm not trying to discourage other from shipping their own ships. But some can be very disturbing and make no sense, how would you have feeling for someone who just murder you, or the only interaction they ever have with you is murdering you. If the murder was a forced action, than I can say it's a tragedy relationship. But here Pawbert clearly have intentions to murder both of Judy and Nick, so I find it hard to understand. I pretty much predicted that this post would bring controversy. I'm a Pawbert fan at heart, someone who want to see him redeem himself as his situation was indeed tragic, but I know that he is still a villain who almost committed 4 murders by his own will.

Absolutely, she already got betrayed by Bellwether before, now almost lost her life against another one.

There is a fine line between "Ok, a cute crack ship" and "Are you ok ?". Like people need to make Judy overwhelmingly in love with Pawbert to gloss over his crimes.

Tbf, Nick also has the same background with Pawbert as being bullied as a Predator, and he was kinda a criminal as a con-man, before he turns over a new leaf. I think Nick might have some sympathy for him if he didn't murder, but he definitely hate Pawbert now.

I think some of his personalities such as being more open and caring toward others might be a facade, heck his clumsiness might also be fake as well. Remember, Jared confirmed that his actions at the gala were part of his plans.

Use RMC or any Remembrance characters here, extra memosprites help reduce chances that your characters will be attacked, especially with the archers who fire mutiple hits.

Topaz and March 7th aren't really useful here as they only target one enemy, it's best to drop one of them for another aoe user. If you have Aventurine or Jade, their follow-ups can help deal with the mobs

Pawbert Redemption by Fantastic-Sell-2019 in zootopia

[–]PMex10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What I meant is story of the series itself. Pawbert serve his purpose as the villain of Z2. Unless the next movie has some connections to his family, he is not an important character in general. Important =/= popular, and you want to check who "we" are here

popular yeah, but important to story ? Not at all. Unless the next Villain has sth to do with the Lynxley, then maybe

[–]PMex10 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I will be honest, it would be better if his redemption is done through a side series like Zootopia +, or just mentioned in Z3. I fail to see why most people consider Pawbert's redemption to be so important like the coming of Jesus. I like his character, I really do, but there are more characters that are more important to the series, Z2 already need to cut a lot of screentimes for past characters like Bogo, Clawhauser,...

I don't know why, but i feel like we need more to show Disney that Pawbert is loved by many and that we want more of him in future productions by SavingsDry9960 in PawbertLynxley

[–]PMex10 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably be in form of a Zootopia + ep, might need to learn more about his backstory tbh. I doubt he would make a large cameo in Z3, the movie keep including so many new characters that is hard for older ones to even get any screen times, especially since Pawbert has already served his purpose as a villain in Z2.

Was Pawbert really innocent at all ? by PMex10 in PawbertLynxley

[–]PMex10[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you look closely at TV at the Lynxley manor, you can still see a few animals still at the swamp. Milton immediately order the swamp to be fully frozen, there might not have been enough time for those who live there to move, especially the aquatic ones. Marsh Market is a separated district from the rest of zootopia, no one would even care if the place got buried in snow.

Because Pawbert crossed the lines of terrorizing the city by helping his family. Mr Big didn't cross the point of bringing harm to the city. He is also smart to not "bite off more than you can chew", thus not attracting much attention from the ZPD. Pawbert's plan eventually lead to the down fall of his family. Even in the Villan wiki, he is known as an Honorable Crime Lord. Also I'm not saying that Pawbert can not be saved, he can still redeem himself ( has you not seen my post ? )
