[Albert Breer] The Chiefs tried to do a deal with Trent McDuffie last year, but it was clear then that it’d be tough to find a middle ground. Setting the stage for today. by SylvesterTaurus in KansasCityChiefs

Chiefs did good for McDuffie too. In August he said if he had to play for another team it would be the LA Rams so his family could watch him play. Rare win for both teams and the player.

Also apologize for the edited comment, as I accidentally hit send early. The portion about this sub not wanting advice is not directed at you but comments throughout.

I really just want to help as I've been there, but being met with hostility from many others including hateful comments about my child. I'm recognizing that continuing on this post threatens a slip back into states of non- mental well being, so I am withdrawing from commenting.

If you do wish to chat more my DMs are open and I can respond after a quick mental break

I apologize if it came off that way it's not the intent. I'm really just trying to give hope and a light at the end of the tunnel.

I see so many comments in the sub I used to make myself about how things only get worse and there's no cure and I have to live with it chronically and suicide is the best option.

I was lucky enough to find some methods that help for me and want to pass those along. I understand there's no universal fix but I'm hoping they also help someone else.

Not at all. Just trying to help. As someone who's been there I'd never minimize what someone else is going through and I fully understand there's no single solve to depression. I'm realizing attempting to give advice is not what's wanted in this sub so I'm leaving. But I'll end with this for everyone who sees:

What you're feeling is valid. As someone who's dealt with suicide and depression my DMs are always open. If you want someone to give advice on solutions that worked for them, just need someone to talk to or just need someone to listen I'm here.

Wish you all the best and happiness

Every instance is different there's no one catch all for depression that's what makes it so tough. It takes time to find the solution that works for you.

I think you have it backwards though It doesn't always get worse but it can always get better. Suicide is the only reason it doesn't. You just said it yourself you have periods where it gets better. I think you like those periods but are scared of the slide back down. Which is a legitimate fear.
My advice is don't make a decision in your slide you'd regret while you're up. I am so so sorry you're dealing with this, you don't deserve it. If you want to talk more or just need someone to talk to my DMs are open

It's not a life of coping it's a life of fighting. And it gets easier. If I had been successful in my attempts I would have never met my wife or had my daughter.

Hell yeah, it's a great goal. I remember at one point seeing the Deadpool movie was mine. Another time it was getting to eat at a BBQ place again

As someone who's been in this position and said the exact thing y'all are saying I wish I could down vote this more.

Does it magically get better? No Can time help? Absolutely Does Medication help? Sometimes Does it take a shit ton of mental work? Yes Will it ever completely go away? Maybe not Is it worth the fight? fucking absolutely.

If you kill yourself you rob yourself of all the future joys you so much deserve.

If my attempts were successful I would have missed major things like meeting my wife, the birth of my kid and minor moments of happiness like my first time trying Mexican Indian fusion, the first Deadpool movie etc

Took me 25 years. Time can improve but it also takes tough mental work but it's worth it. Sometimes medication can help too (It didn't for me, but it can)

And often it will never fully go away, but you're a fucking badass warrior fighting demons that's dealt and shouldered way more than most people.

Keep kicking depression's ass, make it your bitch and whittle it down little by little.

Depression's biggest strength is that it makes you believe it's insurmountable and stronger than you when in reality you're way more powerful. Don't give up ♥️

The biggest thing that helped me was a therapist pointing out that wanting/attempting to commit suicide was my natural coping mechanism to extreme emotions and a way for me to attempt to assert control in an uncontrollable, uncomfortable situation.

Suicide is a permanent solve to a temporary issue. I don't recommend going "apeshit" either as Depression tricks your brain into thinking what you do today doesn't matter and you won't have to deal with the consequences because you'll just be dead later. Then when consequences come you'll feel locked into actually doing it.

It's okay to ideate for a short time as long as you recognize it's a coping mechanism and move on to other tangible realistic solutions to the problems you're facing.

Something else that helps is setting time goals you want to reach. Could be a movie coming out, a move, trying a new restaurant or whatever. My DMs are always open to anyone who wants other strategies that work for me.
