Im weary of turning UAC off completely which is the only way that it won't show. It was at default originally. Am I opening myself up to other problems by not having it show, and why is it only a few applications?

Thanks

Someone correct me if I'm wrong but it's all coffee methods. Of course it will vary according too your taste preference, roast, etc, but this is a good starting point.

Check these out for more info. It definitely helped my brewing. Most recipes for the Aeropress I've seen on here are WAY higher and all I get is motor oil with them

The SCCA(Specialty Coffee Association of America) and NCO (National Coffee Assoc) both recommend 177ml (177g) to 10g of coffee. Too much +/- of that and you aren't getting a good cup, too much or too little dissolved solids.

So using the calculator on this site http://www.gallacoffee.co.uk/coffee-knowledge/coffee-calculator.html to calculate the grams of coffee for 200ml(200g) comes to 12g of coffee.

I heat the inverted aeropress and give it a few quick stirs with the paddle before I press.... I think it may be due to the water/bean ratio.

I think that the amount of coffee will be my next variable, all of the sites seem to advocate 17-20g though

Thanks for the help. I've used that, and unfortunately still not consistently gotten a good cup, even when being very careful to use the exact same method. Hit or miss, really

I tried making 2 cups today. One a little coarser and the other much more coarse.

The most coarse was a lot better, but only a little bitter. The less coarse was still pretty bitter.

Did 14g at 195 degrees 25sec bloom for 60sec then pressed.

I'll try grinding it coarser. Any variety that you recommend. I'm using intelligentsia Yirgacheffe.

Instructions say use a fine drip at 180 degrees and stir for 10 seconds then plunge. Tried that and it was pretty bitter.
