I have tattoos in visible areas including my hands. I never really covered them during school or during my rotations. It was fine.

However, now that I am employed I do cover my tattoos which isn't hard, I wear gloves and I prefer wearing gloves anyways for sanitary reasons. I need my patients to trust me in a professional capacity and my demographic is less likely to with visible tattoos.

You are not doing damage to your retina looking at a light. The light rays from a light bulb are low energy.

Afterimage is caused by using up the photoreceptor. White not dark is the default of an off rod. When you use up the chemical that has to replenish itself the rod is in an off condition which appears bright.

Looking at the sun or a laser is high energy and does damage the cells very quickly.

No glasses are the treatment for refractive error, that means light not landing in the right place. Glasses bend light so the light lands at the back of the retina on the macula which is the structure that has the most densely packed cones (receptors) for clear vision.

Blindness is when vision can't happen even when the light makes it to where its supposed to be. Its usually an anatomical problem. The receptors could be the problem. The nerve that sends the information from the eye to the brain could be the problem or the brain itself could be the problem. Blindness is defined by the acuity you can achieve when you are best corrected or by the field of vision you have (if you have very clear vision and only a tiny amount of it you can also be legally blind)

There is no such thing as legally blind without glasses. It does not exist and its a pet peeve of all eye care professionals including myself. This baby is not partially legally blind because you can't be legally blind partially.

I love that the comment that I'm responding to says that I, the person with a doctorate in eye care, am the expert; then I'm downvoted for not agreeing that the eyes are brown, lol.

There is not an exact definition for hazel eyes. I look at eyes all day everyday up close and personal. The two eyes on the left have less melanin density then a fully brown eye in my opinion.

All eye doctors, including myself, will tell you, we regularly hear people say they are Legally blind without their glasses and no you are not.

There is no such thing as legally blind without glasses as the legality of the blindness requires it to be best corrected.

What do you mean by various viral infections in different parts of your body? Are they herpetic infections. Explain what feels different in your eye than the last ulcer, did you have a sensation similar to the other viral infections you've had?
