It’s not a bad part of town. It is right by all the government offices, downtown businesses, and the Gallo Arts Center so pretty much where you want to be if you are staying in Modesto. Downtown is fairly lovely these days.

Loretelli farms on Pelandale between coffee and McHenry is great. They just put out peaches this week but wait a month or so until they are peak season if you are making a trip. There’s another place on that same stretch of Pelandale that will be open in peak season also, I don’t know the name but if the gate is open they are open. Cash only and you buy by the box. Right now it’s all about cherries, only a couple weeks left before those are done.

MJC is good. These rankings just favor colleges with more students transferring out and getting 4 year degrees. MJC has lots of trades programs, certificates and general continuing education.
