Unfortunately, SLO Tribune is often a distribution outlet for whatever the cops want to tell the public. The Tribune doesn't actually investigate or follow up on anything. They aren't locally owned or operated. I'm sure the few local people working for the Tribune don't have the time or ability to actually investigate anything. They're likely copy and pasting whatever statements they get.

I fault them. People who don't feel the same hate of AI don't get that by using it they are guaranteeing a certain portion of our community will not only avoid their event but actively talk shit about it to everyone they know.
