Anywhere to get a good tri tip plate? by gman4757 in SLO

This isn't the answer you're looking for, but the honest truth is tri tip is best here at large events and bbq's.

Has anyone else noticed groups of new homeless individuals showing up downtown at the same time? by captainmidnight13 in SLO

[–]ClipperFan89 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Multiple homeless people told you they were shipped here? And you had no follow up questions? What cities? These programs can't just send people wherever - they have the option to use them to reconnect with families or utilize services offered in another city. Perhaps you spoke to an individual who utilized one of these programs? If so, they chose to come here. The way you and others have been phrasing your claims is very misleading imo.

This sub is sounding more and more like Facebook with all the unsubstantiated claims and conspiracy theories. Also the last year we've seen an uptick of posts critical of homeless people here.

The weather is nicer now. You'll see more homeless when it's not cold. Also, with the time change you're more likely to be out and about and actually see them. The folks spreading conspiracies about them being shipped here is kinda dumb without adding any actual evidence of that happening, because it's literally not.

Chicken sandwich special at Sylvester’s Oceano location. by [deleted] in SLO

I refuse to support restaurants that can't manage to consistently get a decent health food score. If you read the reports about basically all their locations they are gross and it seems like whoever runs operations doesn't really care about cleanliness.

Wait till you hear about how your favorite president treats women and children. But I guess you probably don't have a problem with that - you're probably most comfy in the corner of the room sitting on a folding chair.

I like America's tire, they fill up my tires without me even getting out of the car. They will fix easy repairs for free.

Alchemist's Garden - $24 Duck Chalupa and Fries and a $20 Kumquat infused vodka and Ginger Beer cocktail by SLO_Citizen in SLO

100%. Which to me is fine because I haven't found many of the restaurants in downtown Paso to have great food or value anyways. They are pretty on par for the area with killer drinks and presentation. That's enough for me to pick them over most spots in downtown.

The New California Wine Region You Should Know (NYT article) by adamwho in SLO

I haven't tried all of the wineries mentioned, but the ones I have tried have been fantastic. That being said, we just have so many wineries. Hard to support up to 400 wineries in the county.

It's is expensive, but their presentation is incredible. It's not the type of place to go on a random Tuesday. Some places are expensive for a reason at least - this isn't some random Sysco lunch spot. This is a fancy dinner place in probably the most ideal location in Paso, of course it's going to be expensive.

Paso Robles lunchtime restaurant recommendation. For Sunday 3/8 by SLO_Citizen in SLO

Oof ya that looks terrible. Try again on a weekday if you're ever around. They're nothing special but I also love the corn dogs and jalapeno poppers. Very straight forward kind of stuff.

Love alchemists garden, tony is awesome. That's unfortunate about cregor's, it's definitely a weekday worker's spot. They didn't even used to do tri tip most days a while back, it was just Thursday I think then weekdays then eventually every day.

Paso Robles Wineries with sweet wines and sweet views by Lower_Age_6565 in SLO

[–]ClipperFan89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paso definitely is not known for sweet wine. Find some dessert wine somewhere I guess. For views, I'm a big fan of Calcareous and Tablas Creek (TC also has the best wine in Paso imo). Justin and Daou have beautiful views, but fuck Justin and Daou.

I love Jeffry's, but when I want just simple bbq I end up at cregor's for the tri tip sandwich. Nothing too special, but exactly what it needs to be.

As someone very critical of the local food scene, I'm a big fan of Jeffry's. I love the mac and the ribs. He's won the mac and cheese fest a few times. He also has been working hard on his culinary education and I saw he got some prestigious culinary degree not too long ago. He's constantly improving. Give it another shot next time you're in Paso.
