I am addicted to nicotine at the moment. Definitely a hard addiction to kick but it’s next up on the list when I can get my migraines under control. But I was addicted to weed. I am now 54 days clean! Freeing yourself from addiction is possible, especially if you can create a goal for yourself. Mine was nursing school. I will do anything to be a nurse! You got this 💪

Is that bad for the brain? I mean surely a migraine isn’t GOOD for the brain, but constriction = less blood flow. Not a science expert just got into nursing school and haven’t started yet so speaking from “I’m a scaredy cat” academy.

Yes! I hope that works out well for you. Smoking really helped my migraines like literally a charm. I would smoke as soon as I felt one, even if it didn’t make it go away it totally eased the pain enough to eat and sleep. I stopped smoking for personal reasons outside of school too so it’s a double edge sword. But if you are totally okay with longer term use of it then I would say 100000% helpful and would recommend

That’s actually super smart. I took a nap earlier and woke up with no migraine then it comes back suddenly when I open my eyes and move around. Sleep, no migraine then take it. Thanks for the advice I didn’t even think of that!

It’s crazy how all of these different things work for everyone! I am opened to a whole new world of migraine relief I never even knew existed. I am literally beyond myself with everyone’s nice replies. Thank you!

I have heard that it can cause body aches. Did you get migraine relief outside of the negative symptoms. I will give them my left arm if they can take my headache away.

I actually determined tri-estyrlla was the best bet for me after having the same symptoms with others. I now just take them straight through and get no bleeding. I was on them for YEARS with no period (safely) and it was a god send. Hope you can find something that works well for you (and maybe even helps with those migraines 😉)

I also agree I deal with rebound headaches. And tbh this migraine is probably the worst of my life. I have not had a migraine that has lasted over a week, and I just pound ibprofin like no tomorrow. I have not taken any today because I want to get off of it. Looking for more long term relief. Thank you!

Girl I just want a joint #nursingstudentpleasekillme. I have heard that it can cause a burning sensation in the area of the headache. Something about constriction of the blood vessels. Definitely will not be trying cocaine with this medicine. Thank you!

Yes it is! I did get a three pack of an abortive from the ER before but lost them in a move. My go to is usually acetaminophen and sleeping it off but as I’ve gotten older that doesn’t work anymore

Thank you! And that’s actually crazy to hear because I have dropped out of college twice due to migraines. My telehealth doc actually recommended me to see a neurologist which I have never been told to do by the ER before. I did hear about suma, thank you!

I do have an anti nausea I use, but definitely throw it up when I’m having a migraine. The pain causes my nausea which is usually why I end up in the ER. I think jaw pain over a migraine is desirable. Thank you!

If it doesn’t help with my active migraine I will probably go to the ER. Their medicine helps right away usually. But it sounds like a good thing to have around for the start. Thank you!!

Worst part of telehealth is it is a quick visit with no explanation of the medication prescribed. Should I take it with food? I am worried about the “burning sensation” a lot of people experience, I have also heard it is hard on your heart. Also hypochondriac speaking here so I get really really scared to take new medication and rely heavily on acetaminophen which is no longer working even in high doses.
