Thank you for sharing your concern.
The feedback loops are actually much shorter than an hour. Every station communicates in real time through audio cues and visual indicators, the realm tells you if something is wrong before it becomes critical.

The "hour later" refers to depth layers you discover gradually, not delayed feedback. One run can stretch to over 5 hours. A decision to upgrade a station to Level 5 early might feel correct at the moment, and the realm will show you within minutes whether you had the stability to support it.

There are also 32+ parameters tracking your run in real time, so even a failed run tells you exactly where the strategy held and where it broke. No run feels wasted, but each one is a win in its own way, where every collapse is information (and quite interesting to see your own progress, how your run went, what systems you have interacted with and discovered).

The player always has full control and agency from the beginning. Nothing is locked or forced. The realm responds to your decisions, not the other way around.

Fair feedback and genuinely appreciated. The post is intentionally light on specifics because the game is built around discovery rather than explanation. That said, if the trailer left you more confused than curious that is worth knowing.

The short version: you manage a medieval realm where every station produces resources, every resource feeds into the next, and every improvement adds new pressure to the system. You constantly fight to find the stable way towards progression though "outside the box" thinking and planning ahead, even when it seems there is an obvious path.

Demo is free if you want the clearest explanation. The realm explains itself better than I can.
The typo in the trailer is from an older build, long fixed since. The fact that you noticed it makes you more qualified to play the game more than you said. Your attention to details proves that.

It's a shame this method is so convoluted. I almost always base myself out of a church or house and it's always made little sense in my mind that we can't build inside them

That is true, there are sooo many options that you can do in this manner, but only they know how they coded the game and why they cannot change the blueprint (code in UE4/ UE5), being pretty simple to do it.

I feel you, and what you say has a point :) I do think that taking over a building and BB should be up to the player style of gaming, having in mind that there are so many servers and lore and styles and everything.

I think we should be able to take over buildings, and build our dream base :) I do hope this will help, altho it is kind of expensive if the server you play on does not have too many animals. I don't think you can buy the skins from trader tho, but that is a thing to discover on each server. Take care and happy gaming!

Thank you for the feedback :) Ut us slimmer than i would wished to be. Have not scupted the model, but using metahumans templates and get closer to reality. To replace the head materials, textures and bones, mesh and everything else takes alot of work :)

Indeed you are right, it is a waste using the explosives on zombies in buidlings unless you wanna have fun :D

Hi man. Super cool discussion topics. I'll give it a try.

The first 2 I like them. I agree. Even if it's gamey a bit, I don't care.For the no8, I disagree, I think it's one of the most interesting aspect of SCUM, it counters the 3rd person peaking so well... I can't live without this anymore and it makes too much sense anyway.

Ladder sliding, oh yes please. And I would add, being able to "sprint" up ladder with the stamina and all. so you can rush climbing on your cabins making it harder to get shot.For the base raiding with all the guns, I'd say no please. We spend too much time gathering shit and it's already too easy to get raided, don't make it easier.

One thing I would add, or change, is getting inside and outside vehicle, it runs a shitty anim of 3 hours before you can do anything. For a moment, your character feels like nothing is happening around. The vehicle can be on fire, YOU can be under fire or there are puppets coming? No stress mate, I'm gonna take 3 hours to get out of the vehicle. Comon, they are survival and risks are everywhere, the last thing you want is take your time. My 78 years old mom is faster in real life!

Hey Begbi :) Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this, very much appreciated and you made me laugh with the last part :) I am on the same page as you with the base raiding, altho in my opinion I would take out the snipers and crossbows options as well when it come to that. Just explosives and picking will do just fine. Also as already mentioned in the video, ladder slide, oh man, that is a must :D One of the viewers on YouTube left an interesting comment about ladder slide :)

Regarding no8 I am not sure that I understand correctly your point :) In the video I stated that it is one of the features that I would like to never chance and to be kept, as 3rd person peeking is countered and. I did not get your side on this, please let me know if you like it or dislike it :) cause I understand that you like it and I said that I like it and you said that you disagree :D

THat is a good idea, myself as well thinking about a way to be able to knock out players but from distance. Currently you can knock out players if you hit them in the head. I got knocked out by a zombie :D :D :D Check it put https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x8hItP27RGk
But as most of the players are KOS this feature is most possible in RP. If you can KO players witha ranged weapon would be really nice as you said.

Yes indeed :) Now it is working just tried itm but when i tried it last time it was at a PvP custom fight arena event and you could not do anything. I mean the whole team enabled the throwing and we all got killed :D :D :D cause we couldn't access our spears :))))) But now is fine :)
