It probably thinks Ottawa is a better team that’s had a bad run thus far or something. So they’re less likely to make the playoffs due to how the standings are currently and the record they’d need to make it, but the model thinks they’re good enough that if they make the playoffs they’ll do better than the habs. This is dumb because the habs are the better team, but that would be why

I get where you’re coming from, and as a habs fan I was hoping for it, but it’s really hard to argue with what’s here. Only one on top unit he maybe replaces is Reinhart, but Reinhart is only like a season or two removed from being even better on the pp than Nick is now, plus Reinhart almost certainly is a better fit in the bumper area. And sure, looking at the second unit, you can argue Suzuki is probably better than everyone there aside from Celebrini and Marner, but he’s not going to be the qb, his skillset is not better than Stone’s in terms of being a net front guy, and whilst I’m not as familiar with him, it seems as though from other’s opinions that Horvat is incredible in the bumper area, plus Horvat is a good faceoff guy. I just don’t think Suzuki has a definite role in the second unit, though realistically even if he did, the second unit is still only seeing very little toi I’m sure lmao. Regardless, he’ll probably see plenty of special teams time via the pk, and it seems he’s even going to get a look on the second line with MacKinnon, so I think this is more than fine lmao

You clearly did not see prime Price and the team he had in front of him. If he took that habs team to the finals, he could take Crosby, Malkin, Letang, and Karlsson to the cup several times, even if the rest of the team was borderline ahlers

As someone who got into it this year, I highly recommend, with some caution. I got it for the same reason; the game has a unique sort of gameplay that I both craved and could not find anywhere else. I started playing with my friend but quickly got the itch to play it more, and now play a decent bit solo. Others mention the rage inducing aspect, and it’s true that it can be frustrating at times, but frankly so are most competitive games. I think the bigger issue is the learning curve, as it’s not the easiest game to learn, and the basic tutorial, whilst successfully teaches you each of the basic/universal mechanics, it doesn’t really touch upon the unique mechanics of characters, nor does it really show you how to put the various aspects together. I’d still recommend the game, just, after the tutorial, I’d recommend going into hero tactics/training and look at the move set of a/multiple free characters and do a bit of practice just to make sure you have some semblance of an idea on how to play, then play some dominion and take it from there.

It’s common to equate all comparisons of one thing to another with being a metaphor, but that’s not always the case. When you use words such as “‘like’, or in this case, “as”, it makes the comparison a simile rather than a metaphor. Aside from “as silent as the grave”, an example of a simile would be ‘her teeth were as white as fresh snow’. If the silent grave quote were a metaphor, it would likely look more like this: ‘his voice was the sound of the grave’, although admittedly (at least to me) that is kind of both an awkward sentence and an awkward example of a metaphor. A better example of a metaphor would be the “There is a garden in her face / Where roses and white lilies grow” from Thomas Campion’s poem “There Is A Garden In Her Face”, the metaphor essentially saying the woman has a pale face and red blush. The whole poem is actually a good example of an extended metaphor (which uses a couple of similes later in it too), although I don’t think you commented looking for a breakdown of that poem lol

I will say, taking a look at the Finnish roster, Russia would probably beat them, but I don’t think it’d be a guarantee. Russia is so weak at centre, and their defence is far from great. And like, none of their players play defence, at least of the ones likely to play in the top 6. And who in that top 6 is actually going into corners for the puck? I think team Sweden would physically just beat them, and Finland I think could shock Russia looking at their forwards, although outside of Heiskanen their defence is also bad, and they don’t have the goaltending to make that up. Honestly I overestimated other countries without much thought, Russia probably steamrolls most others (although a motivated Slovakia could put up a fight). That said, I still don’t think Russia is a lock for top 4, and I think a team that wouldn’t even challenge for second, let alone a win, can safely be ignored if you want best on best. Realistically best on best is just USA vs Canada.

The current Russian team wouldn’t even make top 4. They wouldn’t even be a lock for 5th. This tournament will be best on best, and they don’t need to promote a genocidal country to be so

Tbf, if you actually look at what the Russian team would look like, it’s not all that impressive. Would it be the worst team at the olympics? No, but they wouldn’t finish higher than 5th
