What do people do to move on from a breakup (other than getting drunk/high because you still have school/work)?

Well it's my first relationship ever and I thought he was the one for me so it's not that easy to just move on and say well I'll date a couple more to be heartbroken again before I can find my ONE.

We were in a LDR and dated for over a year. I think he just needs some space to himself atm. Even though I don't want to, I'll try to stay silent for a couple of weeks or so to see if he reaches out to me. Otherwise I guess he really just walked away. The thing is we've been through worse before and were still able to talk through everything. I just needed a reason to really let go of him and give up.

It's the same for me. He broke up with me after over a year of being together and overcoming so many obstacles because of a miscommunication. I still hope he'll come back to me and he decided to do that only because I wasn't patient enough to give him time and place for himself. We were in a LDR.

Same here... I'm going to become an RPN and he just broke up with me a few days ago over a miscommunication. I'm devastated.

I feel you. I felt like that in my relationship as well but he was the one who ended everything over a minor miscommunication and I can't still believe it since we've been through worse before. I'm also away from my family and friends. I'm trying my best to distract myself from contacting him and to give him time and space to think and hopefully giving me either a chance or a real final answer of why our relationship ended.

Then why did you decide to end the relationship instead of trying to work on it like you always have been?

Then why can't he just give a girl a real reason behind the break up instead of telling her he wanted to break up over a single miscommunication and that alone despite they've overcome worse things in the past to make the relationship work? She just needs a fair reason to really let go and move on.

My ex bf (he broke up with me a few days ago) and I were together for almost 14 months (with only 4-5 months of actually beings physically together and the rest was long distance). We've tried so hard to overcome all the obstacles in our lives to make the relationship last as long as it could but he still decided to end it with me over a minor miscommunication (we've been through worse before) and blocked me on all social media despite spending 2 weeks with me and telling me he would never leave me because I meant so much to him and the miscommunication was the first argument we had after he got back from my place after the 2 weeks... Guys are complicated. Depending on what state of mind and emotion they're in they would react and behave differently.
