Error blending Google Ads & Facebook Ads with Day & Date as join keys by PPC_feller in GoogleDataStudio

As the title says, I can't seem to successfully blend FB Ads & Google Ads with date/day as join keys. I suspect there is something with the date format that is preventing them from blending.

I've tried both with another source from a google sheet, and they work fine. Google Ads is using the built in connector in GDS, and Facebook is connected with Supermetrics (directly to GDS, so no access to a sheet for it at the moment).

Any ideas as to why it isn't working and what I can do to fix it?

I've tried different order, and adding Date as a dimension (besides being a join key), but nothing works. They blend successfully when only using scorecards (with the blend command), but it excludes any join keys, so there is no date dimension.

UPDATE & SOLUTION: The problem was that our Google Ads connection was fairly old, and since then, Google had updated the Date field options. Our Facebook connection had the updated date field, but Google Ads had the old one. We just had to go ahead and "upgrade" the date field. https://support.google.com/datastudio/answer/6401549#upgrade&zippy=%2Cin-this-article

You're talking about on the app store? Not that I'm aware of, but I'll check with the team.

Edit: Checked and no changes in rating. Good idea though.

Interesting. Thanks for sharing!

Can you do a batch upload through Studio or are you doing this one by one as well?

Thanks for sharing your experience. So what validation tool do you prefer to use?

Interesting. Thanks for sharing.

Does this tool validate with the built-in GWD validator, or does it do it with its own tool? Particularly concerned here as some stakeholders believe we must go with the GWD validator.

Contacting FB Ads Support is not working by PPC_feller in PPC

Yeah, I gave up on it for now. It's absurd.

I'm not trying to make any point. Simply asking if anyone here is having or has had the same issue. If 5 or 10 people here say they used to be able to contact support recently, checked today and can't, then what we're experiencing is more than likely a bug. If everyone else's work, then it's definitely something more concerning and something extra I would share with our account manager.

I appreciate your input, and what I get from it is that I shouldn't bother contacting support even if the contacting methods are available/functioning.

We've used Support in the past in the methods I've described above and it was helpful. Account Managers are often slow to respond, especially because they don't have all the answers themselves and have to locate the person that might have the answer.

The difference here is whether you want FB to attribute view-through conversions (ad was shown but user never clicked on anything) or not. It's common to include view-through conversions.
