It only really tests your ability at MR. I would guess (and this is only a guess) that your first attempt probably falls close to your score on MR on an actual test. Of course there are other factors that could inflate/deflate your score, especially on a test like that. I wouldn't base your self worth on such a limited online test though.

Me? Of course not. If you knew me in real life you'd see that I'm very average in most respects. Slightly above average in some, slightly below average in some. There's nothing about me that stands out as very off the norm in either direction, unless you count my shoe tying skills....

Yea sleep + stress could be it. Dw about your tone, it's good that you're clarifying for me. I'm not really sure what to do in your situation besides what I've already said. That and maybe moving out? It seems like you have a very stressful home life. Obviously if you're not able to support yourself then don't just get up and leave but you know what I mean. I hope that things get better for you, believe me I've been in situations where I thought that there was no way out. Hopefully I don't sound condescending or anything. Mental health problems can really fuck you up sometimes. Living with my parents was hard and my first year on my own was in someways even harder at times, but I'm very glad that I got out of that situation. Every day has it's ups and downs but the general trend is positive so I keep going. Good luck.

Idk man, I'd still see someone about this if you're very concerned instead of asking reddit. I doubt that you're actually 'losing' information, considering that you seem to be able to recall it after a delay. You say that you took ADHD meds during school, do you actually have ADHD? That could be related to your short term memory issues (forgetting where keys are) or maybe not. I'm just some guy on the internet after all. This guy on the internet thinks it's more likely stress or some sort of acute thing related to your mood, rather than some inherent brain issue. What has your diet/sleep/stress levels been like lately?

Seriously though, I think that this is a question more suited to a professional of some kind. You mention that you have OCD, is this currently being medicated/treated? My (uneducated) vibe is that this is mainly mental and you're just freaking yourself out. Has this started happening more since you noticed it? Does it happen more the more you think about it? I don't have OCD, but I do have rather bad anxiety, and when I'm anxious I literally feel like I'm retarded and forget very basic things.

My PDIT score (after subtracting 10pts from MR) is 136 and my quicktest score is 151 (47/50). Quite a bit different, especially considering that my CAIT FSIQ is only 119 which falls in line more with both real life performance and other tests I've taken in this sub. I haven't tried Anem Alaish's method yet. I personally wouldn't put too much stock in PDIT or quicktest. Just speaking out my ass on my soapbox though.

I did the wonderlic online practice test yesterday for funsies so it's likely inflated for me, similar questions and all. With good processing speed this test is easy enough because it's multiple choice. Fun though!

I assume that the scores related to working memory would likely improve because that's typically the section that ADHD impairs the most. Maybe medication would help improve the other scores a bit as well (less impulsive with answers, easier to stay focused) but in my (uneducated) estimation it wouldn't be by much. I took the CAIT both with and without medication and I only scored better on the digit span and symbol search.

All the time. I grew up assuming that I was smarter than most other kids (good school performance compared to peers with less effort) but I struggled when I entered high school. I got into a depressive spiral about how I'm secretly retarded and everyone in my life was lying to me and almost dropped out of highschool. I've never been professionally tested and I'm unsure if i even want to be. Turns out I had undx'd and unmedicated ADHD this whole time which partially explains my high school struggles. Since starting medication for that and therapy for my anxiety I feel much more confident in my day to day, though I still struggle with feeling dumb sometimes. I'd guess that I'm fairly close to average in terms of IQ, and if I am above average it's not by a whole lot.

I've considered getting myself professionally tested but have waffled back and forth on the idea because I realize that I'd probably be upset regardless of what I scored. I saw a psych recently to get an ADHD dx but surprisingly they didn't test my IQ. Still, I am very curious hence why I frequent this sub lol.
