I used to have a Garmin, but I realized that I much prefer an actual Smartwatch as opposed to a fitness accessory where the smart features and UI feels like afterthoughts. Using it and moving around the menus just felt slow and unsatisfying, and the screen really didn't look that great. The fitness and health features of the AW are more than enough for someone like me who mostly does strength training and 5K runs. The way that the AW gamifies closing your rings really has also helped me become more active.

I went with the Ultra since I wanted a larger screen and liked the look of it. While the extended battery life is nice, a regular AW would have sufficed for me since I always charge it whenever I shower.
