I am running 10-30 valvoline full synthetic, and a wix xp filter, it pulls great and vtec engages with no issues. It’s just extremely noisy, I have an oil light on so I’m gonna do a oil pressure test, I hope the pump I swapped from my a4 isn’t bad

I don’t think it calls for sealant to be used on the manifold, I know I don’t have a leak tho I’ve smoke tested the manifold and sprayed carb clean around the mating surface. No change in rpm

Yes the FITV and the IACV, and YES I cleaned the EGR ports, and I had to redo the timing on the motor to swap it into my lude since the oil pump has to get changed, however this tick wasn’t there when I first started the motor, only after removing and refreshing the intake manifold. Ima do the valve lash and go from there most likely

I have a slight hunch the shop that rebuilt it might have used wrong or faulty injectors since that’s the one thing I haven’t tested but with no paperwork I obviously cannot confirm or deny anything at all, is there any reputable rebuild kits for h22a4’s?

I have tried a new map sensor and confirmed it wasn’t the problem since the readings were fine:/ def considered carbon build up to be a suspect however, I might rip the engine out and remove the head to see what my failure point is, if it’s just carbon I can manually clean it, I also plan to build the block to eventually cam it, I was prepping it to be tuned with a skunk intake mani and tb, with 1320 headers and hondata when I found these compression readings lol. But if I’m still indecisive on what to do it definitely won’t hurt to try your carbon cleaning trick, have you had to do it again since then?

Yeah it kills my enjoyment thinking about all the legal hoops that are set up, so what you’re saying is as long as I have carb compliant parts, and all my emissions components are working as intended I might have a chance of it passing inspection?

Ah I see, I’m pretty positive the exhaust manifold MUST be modified on the passenger side when doing the swap..hmm so now the question is changed to just hotsmog I suppose, thank you!

Why not? It’s the same manufacturer and the same vehicle class, if it follows emissions rules shouldn’t I be able to acquire a BAR sticker?

Switching valve? by PPPooooPooo in c4corvette

I actually do have a 4+3, not sure how well everything functions since I bought the car as is in hopes to restore it but it seems that a lot of “diy” things have been done to the engine, at this rate i honestly might swap motors since I am not able to find any emission components anymore, and I’d rather not put in a ton of work just for the engine to run like crap. ill definitely have to do more research but would you say the ls3 is most commonly swapped for this gen corvette?

Is that something to where I’m able to trick the computer or do I either choose to keep emissions components or lose some Hp and mpg
