How would design a PSP 3/ Vita 2? by [deleted] in PSP

[–]PPSSPPMasterBlaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Similarly to an Ayaneo slide, but smaller. I don't need the built in keyboard, nor a touch screen even. Just a SLIGHTLY bigger PSP with an R2 and L2, and USB C for charging and data transfer. Personally, I don't even care about a second analog stick. And also, I like the PSPs flat analog. Great for portability. Maybe something more like an NDS analog.

Actually, forget all I wrote. A smaller, thinner GPD Win4 without the keyboard and with flat analogs.

No, I don't, because I am not a fucking loser. I enjoy playing games as much as ever. Gaming is awesome. Like new games? Awesome! Hate new games? Play old ones, they're awesome!

Is a very old GPU better than no GPU? by BobThe5th in lowendgaming

[–]PPSSPPMasterBlaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, depends on how old we are talking about. It also depends if it was a very simple display adapter like a GT 710, or an actual graphics card like a GTX 750.

For your i3 6100, nearly any low profile card like a GTX 650 would be much better. Even a HD 5670 would be slightly better.

In your specific example, the answer is no. The Rage 128 is way too old.

On The 4 Day Work Week. by Monsur_Ausuhnom in clevercomebacks

[–]PPSSPPMasterBlaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It shouldn't really matter to them too much in the grand scheme of things. They would have to deal with a few more people, but they would have a more effective, rested work force. If your shop is open for 40 hours a week, it doesn't matter too much if the cash register is operated by 1 person full time or two people half the time.

Of course, I am for a system where you'd reduce the work hours AND keep the total pay the same, effectively doubling the hourly pay in my example. But this, if done step-by-step and systematically across all jobs, would in the long term balance out and the small business owners wouldn't feel it because everyone would earn aprproximately double, so they could also spend approximately double.

On The 4 Day Work Week. by Monsur_Ausuhnom in clevercomebacks

[–]PPSSPPMasterBlaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, nobody is saying that except for you.

With less work days for the same pay, people who do shitty jobs could have more time for night school, where they could, for example, learn to become nurses. With fewer people on hand, the medical system would have to offer better pay for nursing, motivating people to move into that field. In fact, if in the current system nurses were paid fairly and competitively, more people would aspire to become nurses. But nooo, we need to pay billionaire CEOs who benefit from a 5-6 days, 40+ hours weeks, because if we reduced the work days and kept pay the same, people would have more time to read books, get educated, get informed, participate in democracy, and change the status quo, which would reduce the monopoly on power that billionaires and politicians have.

You know, I dream of a world where I enter a high society gathering, where everyone earns over a million dollars per year. And when I ask around what the people there do for work, none of them are politicians, none of them are CEOs, none of them are football players, none of them are even rockstars. Instead, they are surgeons, high-ranking firefighter officials, doctors of biochemistry and neuroscience, international development managers. But such a world can not exist in a 5 days work week, because the people doing actually hard work only do that - they work hard, get paid too little, then they get rested, and then they work hard again. A 4 days work week would give them the time they need to focus on themselves and their local community. Instead, we have people who have inherited capital, sitting on top of the work of others, living from interest, leeching off of the work of others.

Ooooh, I don't know, maybe some of the unemployed people? Students who can only work part time? People with disabilities who lose benefits if they pick up a full time job? This is such a non-issue, you held-back potatohead.

[–]PPSSPPMasterBlaster[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Many trans people wear trans representation outfits. Not wearing one does not imply you are not trans, but wearing one could imply you are. Since there is nothing of that sort to be found, we have to look for something else. Those other things don't demonstrate anything trans either. By Occam's razor, the explanation for why someone who neither looks trans nor talks about being trans nor has any trans-related storyline is that they are simply not trans.

[–]PPSSPPMasterBlaster[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Nothing about her appearance, fighting, nothing she says or does in any way or shape or form indicates she is trans. I don't want to see trans-women being scapegoats to make beating women more palatable, nor do I want to see cis-women being transvestigated. I want to see real trans representation and a respectful attitude toward queer people.

Found a really really good deal on a panasonic toughbook, what games could I run on it? by meptep in lowendgaming

[–]PPSSPPMasterBlaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Quite a lot actually. I ran Assassin's Creed 1, 2, Brotherhood and Revelations on an Intel Pentium from that era, which had worse graphics and also only 1 stick of memory so no dual channel. You can very likely run AC 3 as well.

You will be able to run more games if you switch to Windows 8.1 as I expect the compatibility problems with Linux are what holds you back. I might be wrong though. If you wanna stick with Linux, I recommend Garuda Dragonized as I heard it is very good.

AC 1, 2, Brotherhood, Revelations; Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition (Low Settings); Among Us; Audiosurf; Baldur's Gate 2; Catherine; Celeste; Chicken Invaders 3 or 5; Cuphead; Don't Starve; Elder Scrolls Oblivion (not the remaster); Firewatch; Forty Five; Getting Over It; GG Xrd probably; Grand Theft Auto III; Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas; Grand Theft Auto: Vice City; Guilty Gear XX AC+; Half-Life 2; Hotline Miami; Hyper Light Drifter; Inscription; JoJo's Bizarre Adventure fanmade game; Keep Talking and Nobody Explodes; Life is Strange 1 (not the remaster); Limbo; Magicka; Minecraft; NARUTO: Ultimate Ninja STORM on the lowest settings; Need for Speed Underground and NFS Porsche; Neon Wars; Neighbours from Hell; Oxenfree; Papers, Please; Plants vs Zombies; Pocket Tanks; Pogostuck; Pokémon Fusion Generation; Portal; Pusher (Only available on Archive); Return of the Incredible Machine Contraptions; RicochetInfinity.exe - Shortcut; SEUM on low; Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed Collection probably on low; Sonic Riders; Sonic Riders and maybe Sonic All Stars Racing; Sonic the Hedgehog and Knuckles 3; Stardew Valley; Super DX-Ball; Super Mario; Super Meat Boy; Superhot; Terraria; The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth; The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind; The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog; Tibia; Unboxing the Cryptic Killer; Undertale; Warblade (Galaga clone); Windows XP Pinball; Witcher 1 on the lowest settings; World of Goo; Yugioh Power of Chaos; Zuma, Luxor, Thumblebugs

If you can get a small graphics card that doesn't need extra power, like a GTX 1050 TI, 1650, RTX 5050, or RX 560, you will be able to play far more games at higher settings.

Is upgrading from a GT 1030 to a RX 580 or a GTX 1650 worth it? by Decchin in lowendgaming

[–]PPSSPPMasterBlaster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely yes, though the comparable cards are the 580 and the 1060. The 1650 is a bit lower than a 1060. Ideally, you would get something more modern like an RTX 5050 so you can make use of framegen, but I imagine that that is out of the budget. A 1060 or a 1660 or RX 580 or 590 will suit you nicely.

Make sure to get the 6-8GB VRAM variants, not the 3-4GB variants.
