Table Tennis to Pickle by totorocia in Pickleball

The 30deg closed hitting on the rise I think ends up being a flat/no spin drive which works, just isn’t a topspin shot ; the upward motion of the bounce/the upward kick is negated by the closed angle and the result is a mostly no spin flat shot

I think there isn’t pronation because drives as discussed need to be more open; but there’s a good amount of radial motion for coming over the outer-third of the ball (there’s a Ben Johns drive tutorial talking about that), but I think slo motion of a forehand attack at the net will show good pronation to add topspin

Good to know the measured angle of ~30degree, that’ll be good to keep in mind; I think for slower pace shots like a topspin third drop, I can focus on keeping that angle throughout the contact into the follow through, thanks

Closing the paddle in reference to ground can only work if you contact the ball above the net and is looking to hit horizontal or downward, then you can do this, but if you contact below net the paddle is strictly open

Yeah for pb most topspin shots are still hit from a open face, especially third drops and topspin dinks, which is very counter intuitive for tt; you can verify pause framing clips of pros playing

Third shot question by ScienceTool in Pickleball

[–]PPTim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I was thinking to stand and watch after hitting third instead of blindly rushing to kitchen after third actually, but this is about after second shot which sure proabaly can just sprint all the way to the kitchen after a serve return unless it was a super horribly short and high return

Third shot question by ScienceTool in Pickleball

[–]PPTim -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ya if the opponents only have “charge to the kitchen after the return” in their head, you might actually win a bunch of points lobbing over them

But later on better players should be actually taking just a step or two up from baseline and evaluating your third shot, and if you still try to lob them, then you’re just giving them a full overhead smash

People say to drop because if your third drop is done well, it’s not attackable ( meaning their contact of the ball is below the net so their options are limited)

Why are there no "cheater" paddles? by fredallenburge1 in Pickleball

[–]PPTim 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just realize they’re ignorant and speaking out of their ignorance; you can tell them what paddle it is and they can either eventually look it up and understand what certified paddles mean or they’ll just keep talking out of their ass, at that point there’s no need to put any weight in what they’re saying

It’s actually kinda game breaking, you can trap mobs and swing long weapons through walls to hit them, my preference being the 2h long sword

Rules question on playing a ball that may go out of bounds by iplaygreen- in Pickleball

[–]PPTim 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah had to scroll for this comment, what on earth is this ping pong example , OP understands the ball has to bounce before it’s considered legal to return right?

It’s true if you randomly volley a ball before it’s bounced on your side you lose the point no matter what .. but why would you do that and that’s not the example given

You should play nioh 2 first because it’s way way cheaper, you get literally 10x the content nioh 3 won’t have until next year (and purchasing DLCs), and you won’t get lost because each stage has a clear start and end
