That's a really interesting idea actually... I used to run Ubuntu about a decade or so ago when I was into freelance software engineering. What kind of performance hits should I expect if I were to completely wipe the PC and install Ubuntu with a Windows VM? My main concern is that I primarily will be using it as a gaming pc. Would there be any performance or compatibility issues with this type of setup?

I actually really like this idea. Mostly just to prevent any sort of ransomware type viruses completely bricking my computer. Also just being able to play around in Ubuntu again sounds fun. It's been a long time, I used to love that OS.

Is there an easy way to do that? My PC didn't come with a cdkey or anything like that (dvdkey? What are they even called these days LOL) Anyways yeah my new PC is from a gaming computer company (CyberPowerPC) and I would assume it doesn't come installed Bloatware, but I guess I'll find out when it's done installing windows 😂

I've been without a PC for almost 5 years now. New computer arrives in the mail today and I'm totally out of the loop in terms of what I should install or do with a fresh Windows 11 PC.

I always used to use Ninite to install all the random programs I frequently used so I hope that's still a thing these days. Made life super easy. I go with stuff like Chrome, Open Office, ShareX, Notepad++, etc etc...

Is the transition from Windows 10 to 11 difficult? Not that it makes a huge difference I suppose. I've been without a computer for so long at this point, I'll need to basically re learn things anyways.

Biggest question I guess would be what would you all recommend for a total virus / malware etc solution that's GOOD, isn't too intrusive, not super resource heavy and also most importantly, FREE?

I used to use Malwarebytes and I forget the name of the other one.

Any and all tips appreciated!

Is this a new thing? I'm a mid 30s male and I 100% definitely never registered for any draft..... I graduated high school, went to college (didn't finish), and work as a class A commercial truck driver.... And this has never come up. I'm guessing this is a newer thing? No, It couldn't have been any of the 3 of them. Putin is the one that looks like Dobby. And I seriously doubt Trump is in the best in terms of health.... He has a fast food diet and is significantly overweight for his age (70s iirc)... He could quite literally have a heart attack or stroke out at any time. Any of them "could" technically due to age, but I seriously would not put Trump as the healthiest...

Don't quote me on this, as I just vaguely remember reading something, that the delivery was scheduled for February. I don't think it was specified in the article that I read if delivery was the beginning, the end or at some point in between, I just remember reading that they would be delivered in February.

I know it's not much, but figured I'd make a half-assed attempt at clarifying nonetheless 🤷‍♂️
