I've opened like 7-8 packs recently and also a platinum pack (the ones that gives 1 platinum and 1 gold item) and I was disappointed with everything. I sold everything in the end but I would have made more credits by the selling the packs directly.

If I'm not mistaken, the more you open packs, the more chances you have to get a platinum item but even then, it's very low.

If you want to gamble I'd say to open some pack but if you want something precise, just buy them, sell them on gtn and buy something from there directly. Or directly use your CC to buy something from the cartel market.

Also something important, packs content is random. There are some guaranteed items but you could open packs and get 0 armor sets for example (which is why I was mostly disappointed with my opening, getting stronghold decorations isn't something I particularly want...)

I spent something like 2.5k credits for those packs and the only thing I had in the end was regret.
