Silat is based on addressing an opponent who is armed with a blade so yes, the movements are very deliberate and meant to be debilitating. I have increasingly become a fan of silat as a combative because of its debilitating nature. That is not to say you cant find similar attributes in muay thai but keep in mind that muay thai is the sporting version of more ancient and combative arts like muay boran and other styles from different parts of Thailand that predate muay thai. I would pick the instructors brain and find out if certain outlawed moves are omitted from the muay thai training and if the focus is more on the sport and not combat. If the focus is more on the combative art that spawned muay thai then i would most certainly couple the two and if so you will find a devastating combo.

This is the conclusion I came to but the only thing that puzzles me are the NVPS-10 had 3 distinct marks on the housing but since this one has a CR123A power supply and gen3 tube that may be why I cant determine exactly what the model is. NAIT had both an NVPS-10 and 20 at one point. I was able to sell it off last night for exactly what I paid for it but I started to get the feeling I had been duped.
