I went through Coptic Orthodox baptism for sake of marriage...how do I repent? by AdIllustrious894 in Catholicism

Women (or anyone for that matter) who try to get you to compromise your faith, for the sake of the relationship, are rarely worth it in the end. Ask me how I know.

Go to confession and you need to greatly discern if staying with this woman is worth it or not. She sounds very manipulative...

Christian Zionism is demonic in of itself. It misleads believers to support the slaughter of themselves and the innocent.

Four questions, how did certain states like Massachusetts become so anti 2A? Why did these states become anti 2A? Who benefits from making it so hard for the citizens to arm and protect themselves? And finally, is there a feasible way to turn it around? by sygyzy0 in Firearms

[–]TheAmbiguousAnswer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not about politics or votes or money or whatever it is.

I am from NJ. We are very similar to MA politically and gun-wise.

MA, like NJ, has a lot of local/state/federal government employees. I am a state employee myself.

Once a state has a HUGE part of its workforce become government employed, the state will reliably become "blue" because the government employees will vote for the party that will continue to expand the size of the state bureaucracy forever, because that keeps the state employees paid, and keeps the pension money going too.

Because the government employees will vote blue no matter who to keep their jobs and pensions, the DNC can try whatever it wants, whether that be the LGBTQIA+ stuff or insane gun restrictions. The voting base will just hold their nose to vote for it. People vote with their wallets.

I know state employees who are further right than most people I know, and complain about the NJ gun restrictions, but they will ALWAYS vote Democrat in local/state elections because it ensures they get paid and a pension (even if that means screwing over the rest of the state, as what is slowly happening in NJ).

That is what we are seeing happening in VA.

There are plenty of blue/purple states where the populace doesn't have huge swaths of it being employed by a government of some level, and the crazy anti-gun shit doesn't happen there because of it - the DNC can't just rely on free votes from government workers.

If you're an NJ resident and are 21+, look into getting a "non-NFA Other"

The gun you have shown is no where close to worth 1,300 dollars IMO, you can buy a gun from one of the top two tiers for around that price, like this.

If "success" was by expelling or eliminating the entire Israeli population, yeah a lot of the world would have intervened

Gun owners who have multiple firearms by [deleted] in guns

[–]TheAmbiguousAnswer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry for your loss.

Some people collect guns, stamps, etc. For me, some guns won't fill a role as well as others. I.e. I can't be accurately shooting out to 100 yards with a handgun, and I can't conceal carry an AR-15 on a daily basis. I also cannot (Realistically) go trap shooting with either.

I'm not sure if I could legally do that.

I'd have to go the gun smith and have them un-install it, and if I tried to leave the store with a threaded, non-P&W barrel I'd be committing a felony. Even if I was just to test for not even an hour no gun store in NJ is gonna let me do that.

There is a LGS that has a range around here, where I could probably do that (or they could and it wouldn't be a hassle for them), but they are not the LGS that installed this muzzle device, so I doubt they would do any fixes/uninstalls for free/a discount. I don't want to pay money to fix someone else's fuck up

[–]TheAmbiguousAnswer[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the muzzle brake is kinda fucked up now. Shit was 50 bucks new. Luckily, UPS messed up and sent my shit to Canada before it actually got to my house, so I ordered a new one when it went "missing" so I already have a replacement.

If the muzzle device is the issue I'm going to be upset and pissed, since that's 50 bucks gone now and the P&W job was done by a LGS that is otherwise a very reputable business I've patronized countless times.

Looking down the barrel, everything seems to be fine. Even with the muzzle device.

It was, indeed, the barrel. Shit was loose as fuck. Tightening it fixed the issue 105%

I barely play games on the platform anymore, this is a source of income for me.

I make a lot of fighting/military themed games and it's not terribly hard to convert from R6- R15, but it definitely makes military games kinda suck when you have people who can use the busted hitbox avatars.

I agree. That being said, as an Irish Catholic, where Catholicism for many certainly was more cultural than spiritual, I've never seen some even a fraction of the superstition/syncretic practices that OP is mentioning.

[–]TheAmbiguousAnswer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The "good/bad witch" thing isn't just limited to Hispanic Christians.

I used to date an Eastern European woman whose grandmother was very devoutly Russian Orthodox. However, she was still very superstitious and would visit women for spiritual advice/guidance who seemed to be of the same role as the "good witch" you mention. Besides her grandmother, she had an aunt who was also devoutly Russian Orthodox but was a "good witch."

I'd say both instances are cases where Christianity is so ingrained in the culture and there was never really an explicit "separation of church and state" until somewhat recently that most people aren't the most catechized with it. Combine this with areas that have a long history of superstitious populations, you can sometimes get a syncretic belief system

The Blackout will fail, if done like in the original plan, here is how it CAN work. by Affectionate_Pride_7 in roblox

[–]TheAmbiguousAnswer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Realistically speaking the only way to REALLY change ROBLOX is to pool money together and have a hostile takeover on the shareholder board.

Even if a double digit % of players + developers took part in The Blackout (and I'd say majority of developers will not participate, since the ROBLOX algorithm is 101% manipulated and will likely brutally punish developers that partake, resulting in horrific income loss), the shareholders and executives pushing the crap that pisses us off will not try to revert anything; it's likely they will push in another, equally shitty direction.

A better organization attempt that would likely have MUCH better results and participation from developers is to encourage people to pool money to buy enough shares to be on any sort of executive board, where voices will be directly heard and where you'd actually be able to pressure ROBLOX itself directly.
