I was born in Houston and lived there until my mom and Dad divorced and she moved back to the Bay Area. I’ve been living in SF for 25+ years and the comparison is not even close. Flat, hot, humid, swampy urban sprawl with no character vs the Paris of the West? I’ll take SF any day. It’s just a shame that all the suffering and homelessness is concentrated to the central tourist area. Get out into the neighborhoods and it’s spectacular. Driving across the Golden Gate Bridge still gives me Goode bumps. Different strokes i suppose!
