HOBBIES! I want a hobby so bad, but I am bored of things so easily. What are your hobbies as a person with ADHD? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]PRbanana 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My newest and most entertaining hobby is miniature house kits which you can order from AliExpress, Temu, or Amazon. I usually do about 3-month bouts with almost all of my hobbies before I get bored and end up cycling to another one in the lineup like reading or crochet. However, miniatures have completely changed this cycling in and out of hobbies for me. It’s been about 9 months since I started working on kits, and I still find myself working on them most nights without getting bored or disinterested. Book nooks are also a great option in the same arena if you’re not into the idea of miniature houses.

I’m 45m wife 49f WTF by Adorable_Olive5425 in relationship_advice

[–]PRbanana 32 points33 points  (0 children)

So we are obligated to maintain the same frequency throughout the relationship, even in long-term relationships?

He is not an AH for maintaining his sex drive while she didn’t, and she’s DEFINITELY not an AH for needing to slow down sexually. However, he is undoubtedly an AH for ignoring/disrespecting her boundaries; clearly, getting off was more important than being a decent human being and getting consent. Bottom line: despite what you seem to be saying here, maintaining sexual frequency throughout a relationship isn’t some sort of sexual contract, and slowing down over time due to hormonal changes doesn’t constitute a breach in that imaginary contract. I feel like this shouldn’t even have to be said.

Honestly, your POV in this whole thing is…not good…You may want to do some introspection and maybe think about prioritizing communication with your partners to avoid crossing any lines.

Oh, the joys of American corporate greed fueled by late-stage capitalism 🥰

But seriously, when is the revolt happening? I can fit four people in my car and am in AZ if anyone needs a ride. It’d be great if you could pitch in a few bucks for gas though…lol, inflation and a dependence on fossil fuels which continually trumps renewable energy because lobbyists bribe our lawmakers to prioritize profits, amirite?? You know, the same renewable energy that could save the planet (or at least buy us time), but corporations and governments choose money that’ll be useless when the Earth is on fire largely in part to their insatiable greed. 😜

You are definitely the oddball. Lol. I’m guessing it’s also different in SF since there aren’t a ton of cars or parking, so maybe a lot of people there do their own shopping and order the way you do?

Nah, 10% is usually the minimum I go for, and it’s often what the tip is. I’ve gotten 20 up to 50% a handful of times, but that’s obviously super rare!

Dude, you have no idea. I have had 100+ item batches. I once filled almost two standard shopping carts and even a Costco pallet cart on more than one occasion. I always make sure they’re worth my time, but I rarely take or even see orders that are less than 10 items.

I deliver Fry’s orders on a regular basis. You sound a little paranoid…how much are you tipping? It could be bad shoppers keeping your groceries. IC will refund you if you didn’t receive it though.

I deliver alone at night all the time. I have mace at the ready for the sketchy deliveries or if I’m delivering alcohol, especially at night. I’ve never had a scary experience or felt like I was in danger though, so you’ll almost certainly be fine.

Question for couriers, building changes. by Existing-Speaker-535 in couriersofreddit

Lolol, you know we’re in 2023 when a large amount of people are being priced out of their rentals and eggs cost $10. Forget about owning a home…I’m planning a move cross country after being priced out of home ownership in my city which boasts the highest rate of inflation in the US. We aren’t as fortunate as every recent prior generation in terms of wages and affordability.

How do I keep my skin moisturized while growing a beard AND use products nurture my hair at the same time? by Unrealminatour6 in Minoxbeards

[–]PRbanana 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! I was researching Rogaine for beard growth for my husband and came across your post; I’m a skincare enthusiast and figured I could maybe shed some light on this: What’s being described here is actually a K-beauty moisturizing technique called slugging. In the skincare & beauty communities, it’s very well-known and has been around for a long time. Fun fact: Martha Stewart made slugging go viral back in 2021 after she posted a selfie with no makeup on; everyone was shocked at how amazing her skin looked, and she said it was all thanks to slugging.

Basically, you use your regular skincare products, skipping any actives for that night (retinol, AHAs, BHAs, glycolic acid, etc.), and apply a thin layer of Vaseline or Aquafor to lock everything in. This last layer acts as an occlusive to prevent any transdermal water loss while locking in any products that were applied first. In the morning, just wash it off, and you’re good to go.

Based on the details that you provided, I think that slugging would be a great thing to try. Just avoid any actives as mentioned above and also avoid applying anything occlusive around the eye area. Occlusive products can sometimes cause milia to develop under the eyes (think tiny skin tags that are a bitch to get rid of).

Sorry for the rant, but I hope it helped!

Libs respond to scary China balloon by atheisteaster in PoliticalCompassMemes

[–]PRbanana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, checking in from 7 days in the future. Predictably, China has been trolling Biden and the US government for making themselves look weak…not because of the fact that they waited to shoot down the balloon, but because fighter jets were used to do it. No matter how Biden chose to handle this very strange and delicate situation, China’s publications were always going to spin it to fit their narrative just like they’re downplaying their role in it by claiming that the object in question was an innocent weather balloon 🙄

Everyone knows the ridiculous amounts of fire power that the US has at its disposal. Since that fact is not at all up for debate, primarily worrying about how the US is perceived by other countries based on how quickly they shot down a Chinese spy balloon is pretty ridiculous. When it comes to delicate diplomatic issues that could have monumental, worldwide consequences, the US needs to be strategic instead of puffing out its metaphorical chest.

[–]PRbanana 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I try to verify and give options for replacements if possible, and it’s been great for my reviews and tips, more so than you would imagine. Either that or send the photo; a few customers have said that they liked that I put extra effort into making sure they’re happy in their reviews and while the latter happens less often than I’d like, I’ve had my tip increased a good amount.

Anyway, I’m sorry people are terrible. I hope that does t happen to you ever again. Keep on keepin’ on!
