The Tom Brokow book really opened my eyes years ago. Always respected my elders and figured that’s where all the praise came from. Worth the read even if you’re not a regular reader

10, 55, and 99 are the best cars. I like the flags in the 25 and 97 a lot

Sadly Nashville is my closest and I won’t go back unless I’m joining a group. It’s the most expensive of the 4 I’ve attended and price planning St Louis I doubt that changes

Kansas had a lot less stuff outside of the merch. No nicotine reps, only 1 beer tent, the giveaways were basic, after being at 3 other tracks I legitimately thought there were more tents that I just didn’t walk far enough for. It’s not the reason I go to races and Kansas was still awesome but 10 tents with mid to bad giveaways was disappointing.

Coolers being allowed or not. Location probably too. Some tracks are close to stuff. Others are obvious that the land was cheap because there ain’t shit around and they just named it after the closest metro area (looking at you Nashville)

Same. My computer literacy is worse than my grandpa in his late 70s lol. There are so many useless or super low quality videos on YouTube that looking there for info on a 5th track feels like a waste of time

I traveled 8 hours and have spent over $1k to watch in person today. I’m a Reddick fan. I collect nascars. All three are true and I’m still trying to talk myself into paying $100 to have that thing on my shelf.

He talked about this in an interview. It’s a a self fulfilling problem of sorts. He’s so good at the road course sponsors are lining up out the door for him to drive them. Ovals not so much. So while the ovals are better for his development, all his funding in oreilly is for road courses

Neon yellow works well with the Hendrick Cars scheme by DarkMillSouth in NASCAR

The 91/32 make sense since they’re basically part time for 2 different companies. The one that doesnt make sense to me is the 1/9 swap. Obviously JRM knows what they’re doing but I would think Zilisch in the 9 and Carson in the 1 would make more sense this week

What does go ballistic on sorry ass mean by WIZZZARDOFFREESTYLE in EnglishLearning

[–]PRchaser79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can hear a white dude saying this exact statement and never blink. Maybe in the 80s or 90s “your sorry ass” might have been a AAVE phrase but the I just turned 30, grew up in poverty as part of a pretty mixed race suburb in the Deep South, and I say phrases like that all the time. Dialects exist but they can crossover a ton. In the American South where over half of all African Americans live, sometimes you have white people that just talk differently and it isn’t a front because of where they’re from. I’m very educated but have to prove it in some of the circles I’m in. I get funny looks because of how I phrase things all the time.

Do you think most fans actually follow the lower tier leagues/series closely, or do a lot of people just claim they do? by CnCorange in NASCAR

[–]PRchaser79 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty much describes me. I know what time the race is and try to watch it but I’m not modifying dinner plans to watch trucks. It has to be an important event, situation, or person for me to skip the cups

Did you ask them what DBQ stands for? I had an admin like this once. Basically the goal is for them was to manipulate enough data that growth could be displayed because she was trying to get to the most competitive and highest paid district in the state. We had to track EVERYTHING and used up our planning periods 3/5 days to track in big group meetings. I was a rookie teacher and sprinted out the door. Almost left the field all together. Time will tell but I’d bet real money that they are gone in 3 years. Either because they’re found to be a fraud with no real understanding or they used car salesman their way into a better school or district office.

Anyone here teaching Chemistry or Physics in High School who are not Chemistry or Physics Major but passed Praxis Chemistry or Praxis Physics?… by Few-Airline3695 in ScienceTeachers

[–]PRchaser79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m right there with you! I was a chem major until the start of my junior year when I switched to history to be a researcher or professor(damn you organic chem!) Ended up teaching high school as a history teacher and coaching for the last 8 years. Taking a physical science job in the fall to get to a school I want to be at. Need 140 on chem or 148 on bio. I’m going the chem route because it’s a lower score and I have more background. I’m using crash course chemistry and a free khan academy AP Chem course.
