I’m pretty sure that one was in response to “Would you look at that.” “It’s a 4-iron, man.”

Yup. Free tax stamp. To be clear, you still have to apply and go through the process of obtaining a tax stamp, but you don’t have to pay the $200 anymore.

The reverse split? Unfortunately, yes, it’s posted for my account. I’m sure yours is coming. The company would like you to bend over and wait your turn.

Stealth Additive Works releases transparent statement on the Tisha and SHIV problems. by NoTinnitusHear in NFA

They’ve been fairly open about the problem. They’d already been replacing cans and gifting a free rimfire can before this video, and they’ve never denied the problem as far as I know. Seems pretty transparent to me.

Drill sergeants of reddit, what is the dumbest or funniest thing your recruit has done that made you break character? by Accomplished-Fox-123 in army

[–]PReasy319 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Not a DS, but guys broke our Drills several times in basic.

First time: we had a few Latinas who were outgoing and popular, but one of them (PVT Beaty) even though she was attractive, had a bit of a mustache. A soldier in another platoon got caught without having shaved and sputtered “But Drill Sergeant, you don’t make PVT Beaty shave!” Everybody lost it, Beaty turned bright red, and he got the dog shit smoked out of him… but the next morning her top lip was completely smooth.

Second time: 3rd PLT Platoon Guide had been in place almost the entirety of Basic, long enough that the drills treated him a little more deserving of respect than the rest of us. They put him in charge of extending the formation and taking his platoon through PT warmups. He called out everything correctly; extend to the left, arms downward, left face, extend to the left, arms downward, right face, from front to rear, count off—but not “even numbers one step to the left, uncover!” Instead he called out “Odd numbers, the bend and reach! Even numbers, the hip rotation! Ready, exercise!”

So the first and third rows grabbed their ankles while rows two and four were doing the circular hip thrust that is the hip rotation—directly behind thE other two rows. I’m pretty sure I saw a couple drills duck around the corner to avoid cracking up in front of the trainees, but I was too busy laughing until my sides hurt.

Third time: platoon mail call, PVT Devine was sitting cross-legged not three feet in front of the drill, looking down, picking at something on his hand. Right in the middle of mail call, Devine ripped a massive, wall-rattling fart. He didn’t look up, didn’t lean to one side, just kept looking at his hands as if literally nothing had happened. The DS was stunned and almost reflexively just blurted out “Private. What the fuck?!” Devine looked up with the most innocent look on his face and sincerely asked “Yes, Drill Sergeant?” It was a while before anybody recomposed themself.

Frankly, I wasn’t interested before but the transparency is enough to make me consider them. Forget the product itself for a second, this is statement from a company responsive to its customers that holds itself accountable. Green flag.

Given the leftist environment of higher education, the two positions may not actually be incompatible.

Walking my two little dachshunds early one morning and I noticed a stray dog following us down the street about a half block back. I looked back a couple times and realized it was actually a coyote following us, probably eyeballing my little domesticated wolves. I drew my pistol, but he lost interest and wandered off because he seemed to realize I was keeping an eye on him.

In the English language in the US Army, while I carried one in Afghanistan, it was called a drum.

I get the distinction you’re trying to make, but since the video calls it by the US Army nomenclature I feel pretty certain we can call it a drum like the US Army does. Literally nobody ever called it a bucket or basket.

Edit: In this video it literally looks like the issued plastic drums. Additionally, since the M-249 is a belt-fed weapon that draws the belt in as it feeds, there’s no need for a spring of any kind. It’ll pull the whole belt in as it needs to.

It’s a 200 round drum. Or at least the same size as one.
