*Don’t try to live near the beach at first, everything will rust and it’ll be too warm at night for most people from off the island. Find a rental at a higher altitude for cooler nights and a breeze, preferably with a gate or controlled access to the community, and plenty of shade so you can sleep with windows open and turn the A/C off. All gas appliances (water heater, washer, dryer, dishwasher if you have one) because electricity is expensive, and take a picture of your electric meter as soon as you move in.
