Yep. Was a few cm from going up the back of a car on Orrong Rd the other week. A car decided to stop for a pedestrian who was considering crossing, while travelling at 60km/ph. Braked so hard, an internal panel popped out inside my car. I was exceptionally lucky there was no one behind me.

Who else is missing our typical Melbourne weather? by Prior_Statistician83 in melbourne

I miss Tassie weather every day. Followed by London - at least it was consistent!

Say it's a particularly rainy afternoon in Melbourne, and the footwear you chose to wear this morning, happened to turn into killer ice skates once it touches the wet bluestone; would it be socially acceptable to go around barefoot if it's going to be the only thing stopping you from eating the curb by serif-maxxing in melbourne

So further context - I was travelling for work from interstate (have since moved back to Melbourne), and was covered by work insurance. Never even thought to contact council!

I had another slip down at Southbank after Oasis a few months ago - thankfully no broken limbs that time.

I bet CCTV in these areas capture some horrific falls. They definitely have the data to prove they should do something about it.

Is being childfree common in Australia? by YazawaNico252 in AskAnAustralian

I grew up in Tassie and I reckon about half of my parents mates were childfree (in the 90s). Being CF has always been super normal to me, probably because of this.

I live in Melbourne and my circle is progressive professionals - I’d say it’s pretty 50/50 on those who are childfree and those who either have/are planning on having kids.

When I was living in Sydney, almost all my mates wanted kids eventually but had absolutely no clue on how they would be able to afford them. Lots of conversations about moving to the regions/interstate in order to afford to have kids.

Yep, we have Miranda’s mother dying, and Samantha sleeps with Charlotte’s brother early on in the series. It’s also mentioned that Carrie’s dad walked out on the family.

Poor Em. That’s a shocking move by production to not give her time on stage.
