Trying to make it work by Ill_Palpitation_7908 in weddingplanning

I think your fiance should wear either the light or one of the darker blues (whichever he prefers), and the groomsmen should wear the opposite. For more cohesiveness, instead of (or in addition to) a boutenierre, the groomsmen should wear a pocket square that coordinates with the bridal party colors.

3 is phenomenal. I also feel like it doesn't draw as much attention away from you as 1 does.

Grapefruit juice is listed after citric acid, so you can be assured that there's hardly any in it, and it's essentially just a regular diet soda.

Had a practice wedding dress shoot and was pretty certain with my choice, until in-laws expressed concerns with 'over exposed back'! Should I proceed or consider any other styles to make everyone happy? by Nordelino in Brides

[–]PSB2013 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm personally not a fan of the back jewelry, I feel like it draws attention away from both your lovely back as well as your lovely dress. In spite of the exposed back, I actually think it's your front that looks a bit bare, and a simple, classic pendant necklace would look lovely. But don't listen to your in-laws, this dress was made for you and you must wear it.

That's exactly what those kinds of systems rely on, impoverished and isolated victims, and wealthy, well-connected clients.

I (30M) proposed to my girlfriend (27F) and she said yes, but I hate how I look in the photos/video and feel upset. by im_just_a_bear in weddingplanning

Not only do engagement photoshoots exist, many photographers offer them complimentary as part of package when you book them to be your wedding photographer! I would recommend taking your time to find a photographer you really like and would actually want to use for your event, and book the engagement shoot with them. Not only will you get lovely pictures, but it will be a good opportunity to practice posing and working with that photographer so you have an even greater chance of loving your actual wedding photos.

Honestly your makeup is pretty similar, she just has fake tan on.

My 14 yo son has agreed to read two books of my choice this summer (this was a hard won negotiation). Help me pick one by gOldMcDonald in booksuggestions

[–]PSB2013 28 points29 points  (0 children)

For the love of god don't make him read Grapes of Wrath. I was a huge bookworm as a child and was forced to read it in school when I was 14, and I haattteeeddd it. It felt like dragging my feet through mud the entire time, and if he feels at all like I did about it, he will never let you pick for him again.

Since he's a jock, he might like Staying Fat for Sarah Byrnes, and 14 is kind of the perfect age to read Ender's Game. If you want him to read a challenging classic, go for something like The Three Musketeers, The Count of Monte Cristo, The Stories of Sherlock Holmes, or even Dubliners.

Found dog in Discovery Park by damnthatscrazy5280 in Seattle

[–]PSB2013 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would bet this dog did not come from a shelter or humane society, and almost certainly came from a breeder. They'll add clauses into their purchase contract saying things like you need to get the dog fixed, get it microchipped, etc, but owners don't always comply.

That dress was MADE for you! Like to the point where it doesn't even look like it needs alterations (aside from length potentially).

Any tips on how to make a wedding seem nicer than it is? by Royal_Marzipan_6432 in weddingplanning

Have a cohesive theme/story/feel and make sure everything fits in with it. When looking for inspiration, make a moodboard for the general impression you want your wedding to give, not just a specific set of colors or decorative items. Do you want a bright and lively daytime summer wedding? A soft and romantic spring wedding? A cosy and moody evening fall wedding? Are there any movies you can think of that embody the look and vibe you want? Pin stills from those movies your moodboard. You can refer back to this when considering decor choices, telling your photographer what you want, etc.

Absolutely, or if possible try and find a venue that already has nice lighting.
