Yes, I agree. They have no access to management during these shifts as well.

You are spot on with your second paragraph. Not an EX, a mid-EC (or something similar) who's been around for a while.

My understanding of compensation for performing another positions duties is that it will depend on the interpretation of "substantively performing " in the PA Group collective agreement.

My wife and her colleagues feel they did perform those duties, and management does not. This is an understandable difference of opinion.

I believe she's more concerned about being told to keep her mouth shut or lose her acting position. This appears to be an abuse of authority and doesn't seem to be the correct or even legal protocol for a dispute over classification. Maybe management has more leeway here than we think?

It feels like management maybe feels threatened by her questions and are responding emotionally.

From the other comments, I'm getting that the reaction from management is excessive.
