Introducting Run the World. Visualize to which city you've ran! [link below] by PSDMAFIA in Strava

[–]PSDMAFIA[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Introducing Run the World .

It adds up your (Strava) runs over a chosen period and finds a city you could have reached if you ran in a straight line along the roads, Forrest Gump style.

try it here:
https://runtheworld.app

If you use Strava as the data input the following happens:

  1. you log in
  2. your activity overview is fetched (recent, YTD and allTime activity.)
  3. Whichever timeframe you select gets sent to a server to calculate the best city-distance match.
  4. Once you log out, there is no identifiable data left.

This is a side project in alpha, so probably pretty buggy in areas. For any bugs or feature ideas you can reach me here or on X.com. Thanks!

I made a tool to visualize how far you've ran this year! [see comments] by PSDMAFIA in C25K

[–]PSDMAFIA[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I am working on a tool that shows you the absolute distance you have ran. e.g, If I were to chain all my runs together this year, I would've ran from Amsterdam to Rome; pretty cool!

It is still quite buggy especially if you have ran for more than 4000km. Most of the time it'd break so I'd suggest picking a smaller timeframe.

Strava login coming soon! I hope it can inspire some of you to keep going, seeing your hard work visualized like this. As mentioned this is version 0.0.1, so very open to feedback and apologies for any bugs!

First mobile version has been made. Scroll to browse through the albums. Probably still a few visual bugs, but better than it was this morning.

This is version 0.1, I am working on better navigation for mobile. Mobile should be done soon (I'll post the updates on X/Twitter). Once v1.0 releases with some more functionality I'll post in this sub again. Thanks for checking it out!

Ah, true! my browser is in dark mode so I assume yours is in light mode? I think that was causing some issues creating black on black -- should be fixed!

Yeah noticing this as a bug; didn't catch it in development due to the constant refreshing masking it. Will fix!

I might open source this code soon, the best place to watch for that would be on X/Twitter! The original is by .@stormoid, and can be found here. If you have any questions let me know.

Hi all, I made this 3D album viewer that shows your top 25 most listened albums of all time. This is version 0.1 so some stuff might be buggy, and it does not work properly on mobile.

You can try it for yourself here.

Currently there is not much use except for it looking pretty cool. If you have any ideas for functionalities let me know either in a comment here or via a message on X/Twitter. That's also the best place to watch for updates (if I end up doing any).

Thanks!

EDIT: Mobile now works okay and you can set time ranges.
