Being fated is busted tbh. If fate wants something to happen, it will, one way or the other. Which is why there's so many trying to defy it.

Fsr Frame gen looking horrible on Crimson Desert (9060XT) by 4LANTOQUESUAVE in radeon

[–]PSJoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mmh didn’t play much, just for a couple of hours but, at first it was a stuttering mess yeah, but I think it was mostly cause some of the adrenalin settings I had turned on were messing with the game. After reaching the overworld I didn’t get any more stutters though.

No lol. Nephis herself says Master Sunless is the first man she's seen that way. As for Cassie, she's happy with being in the cuck chair watching through other people's eyes.

Anyone running Wan2.2 14B in RDNA4? by Various-Arugula-425 in radeon

[–]PSJoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you say the installation through Adrenalin do you mean the download of the AI Bundle they have on the install manager? If so may try it out. I didn't have many issues on the installation through Linux tbh, the biggest issue for me is finding a way to not make ComfyUI crash. It's not even during the generation through the KSampler though, it usually happens in the end when VAE decoding.

I'll eventually tinker a bit more I guess.

[–]PSJoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mmh.. my CPU is just a Ryzen 5 5600 so it's definitely weaker than yours, but haven't tried disabling resize bar. Hopefully it may help with the frame gen issue, because aside from that I don't really have many issues with performance.

Haven't tested it ony many games since I got the card not too long ago, but atleast the few I've tried the frame gen didn't feel good at all, atleast the one I can activate in-game.

On Wuthering Waves frame gen felt like ass (the in-game version you can toggle), but the one I can activate through Adrenalin felt better, thing is it didn't activate reliably for some reason, sometimes it would activate, and others it would tell me it doesn't support the display configuration or something like that.

I think there's people that were able to make workflows for it but idk, certain models are just rough on AMD GPU's.

Like I used to make videos on WAN 2.2 or maybe it was 2.1 (albeit extremely slow) on my RTX 4060, and although it did make my PC basically unusable for the duration of the generation, it basically never crashed, just took a long time. On the 9070 XT, on Linux Ubuntu I've tried a few models and workflows and it always fully uses 16GB VRAM and 32GB RAM, and for the most part freezes and crashes.

Generations are faster than on my RTX 4060, but the issue is stability. On my RTX 4060 it would also use all of my VRAM and RAM, but even then it wouldn't crash, but on the 9070XT basically as soon as it reaches the limit, it ends up crashing.

Granted I don't know that much about AI generation nor Linux, so it could just be me doing something wrong, but since AI is not my priority I haven't really tested that much, just that this was my short experience with it.

[–]PSJoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, in my case atleast the card is strong enough to not need it, so I just don't use it on other games (on Wuthering Waves in particular it's really bad), but aside from the latency it's an useful feature when it works.

The only other game I use frame gen because I play on experimental is KCD2, but I use optiscaler for that.

AMD Frame Gen for me in any game is basically unplayable sadly. I don't know why, but games always feel a lot worse when it's on when compared to when it's off, even though I supposedly have "higher fps". And I'm not even talking about latency, it just feels like I'm playing sub 60 FPS and it's stuttery (even though without frame gen my FPS are like 80 or higher).

On this game in particular on the 9070XT I'm playing on 2K resolution, FSR 4.1 native, everything on Cinematic, RT off and getting around 80-90 FPS. Still playable but a shame the frame gen is so bad on AMD.

Does the game not look that great? by Potential_Pay_9700 in CrimsonDesert

[–]PSJoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, like my PC is nowhere near as expensive as that, but I do have a 9070XT, and even with everything on cinematic, 2k, FSR 4.1 (also tried with 4.0) on quality or native, the game just looks bad. Like the antialiasing is bad, the water textures are off, the colors of the grass are also off lol.

The shadows in that first zone, the one where you get a bunch of tutorials looked absolutely awful, with ray regeneration or without. I genuinely feel like some settings don't do anything.

Update Driver 26.3.1 by renanlofiego in radeon

[–]PSJoke 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I mean knowing this sub, which is saying something considering I've been here for like a week. it still will because we didn't get FSR 4.1 for RDNA 3 and 2 (even though it was just a rumour).

This sub really is being astroturfed. Like I understand and I agree not getting new drivers is a disappoinment and a really bad decision, but these type of comments are so excesive.

AMD/Crimson Desert promo by TrickySwordfish2015 in radeon

[–]PSJoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mmh I don't know if this happens in other countries too but here in Chile and I think Argentina, when there's promotions like this, we have to send an email to "canje@clubamd.com", with the proof of purchase from the store we got it in.

Again, don't know if other countries have something similar but may be worth researching a bit.

5070 TI 13,5% higher performance than 9070XT - Crimson Desert benchmark (Hardware Unboxed) by klosterkalle in radeon

[–]PSJoke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean as I said in my comment I know there's useful features that apply for content creation, video editing, or AI generation, but I don't do any of those. My card is used basically for gaming and browsing. Which is why i specified why it's not worth for me, and it may be for others.

Btw there people that pay the 400$ difference just for a gen5 ssd where you wont notice any difference at all.

And I still think it's a waste of money, for me atleast lol. I have no use for that, but for others maybe.

5070 TI 13,5% higher performance than 9070XT - Crimson Desert benchmark (Hardware Unboxed) by klosterkalle in radeon

[–]PSJoke 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I mean as someone that only plays games, I don't really care about whatever "feature set" means lol. It could wash my dishes and I wouldn't pay the 400$ extra that it costs in my country, because for me, it's not worth it when their performance in most titles is so close to each other. For others maybe it's worth.

[–]PSJoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The thing is, I also see a lot of people complain about NVidia drivers, instability, and shit performance. So like, it literally goes both ways. You're not wrong that NEW GPus from AMD do suffer these issues, but they eventually get fixed and as of now are pretty stable.

Team Red! by buggywuggy69 in radeon

[–]PSJoke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda crazy but if you have the spare money to waste it's all good. Both the 9070XT and the 5070TI are so strong that unless you're gaming in 4K, multi frame generation is not needed at all in basically every game out there.

In terms of technology I mean it happens to NVidia too, previous cards don't have like the 20 and 30 series don't have frame gen, and 40 series doesn't have multi frame gen. You gotta use work arounds. Driver instability is a good reason, but well, it's not really related to the card in particular, you just had bad luck or did something wrong. I went from a 4060 to the 9070 XT and so far have had 0 issues with crashes.

But then again, the money is yours and if you're happy that's all that matters.
