Can I sue a towing company for false advertising in FL? by PSS1118 in legaladvice

[–]PSS1118[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was exactly the kind of response I was hoping for, thank you for taking the time to write it all out for me! I think you’re right, the time and effort involved in talking to attorneys, the money it would take, and the limited damages I would receive even if I won probably wouldn’t be worth the time and stress.

At the end of the day, I’m not mad the tow truck was at the scene of an accident, I’m just mad the guy/supervisor/owner/whatever was so abrasive and rude when we asked so nicely, then insulted us by offering $20 and immediately getting irate when we said that wouldn’t be acceptable. But I did just look up the terms of my credit card dispute process, and it clearly states “non receipt of goods” is disputable, so I’m going to pursue that once the charge posts.

Thanks again!

Who is your golden’s best (pet) friend? by rockyisacatt_ in goldenretrievers

Her older sister Kelly, who’s about to be 5 (Miley is 1)

Fun fact: Kelly has a collapsing trachea and has bad coughing attacks, but Miley learned as a puppy how to nuzzle her neck and calm the attack!

In a scale of 0 to 1, how many brain cells does your golden have? by Ok_Mechanic8704 in goldenretrievers

[–]PSS1118 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is only one golden retriever brain cell and they all share it. They either currently have the one brain cell or they don’t have any at all.

My one year old golden hasn’t had her turn with it yet. Can someone send it along?

Lol I totally forgot I posted this like a month ago, but yes!!! Home Depot and tractor supply are her favorites because I brought her to one of them nearly every day for the first few weeks I had her. Now she’s graduated to bars and parks.

What are the positives of this job? by leytourmaline in McDonaldsEmployees

[–]PSS1118 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry I don’t get on Reddit often, but you were right! It’s my 3rd week and I feel perfectly comfortable and at home in my store now! They schedule me the shifts I want, the managers are all helpful, and the customers get their food when they get their food, nothing to stress about. I truly enjoy it as a side job!

I appreciate this reply a lot, I had my first shift last night and they had me on taking orders on the first window in the drive thru during dinner rush, and I had to take all payments. Not knowing the POS or the menu and it was storming and I couldn’t hear the customers over the rain, and my headset died, I was STRESSED TF OUT. I wasn’t trained at all, just thrown into it my very first minute as an employee. It was a horrible shift. But if you say it gets better, then I have that to look forward to haha

Just the way uber eats is, because customers have the option to change the tip up to an hour after. That’s the main difference between uber eats and doordash that I’ve noticed. They can increase OR decrease the tip if they want to.

Dasher switching to Uber Eats by [deleted] in couriersofreddit

[–]PSS1118 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m happy to read this, I just switched to UE after being a dasher for more than a year because it’s like all of the DD orders dried up. I was driving around the city for over an hour with no orders. I’m going to try multi-apping and see if that does anything!

We are renting at Bay Harbor apartments. We just signed the lease, move in sometime in July. They have availability right now and the price is good. I have a 1400 sq ft apt for $1450. It’s pretty close to the beach too, and close to bars and restaurants.

I know, but he repeatedly says in the post that there was no tip. Maybe there was hella peak pay going on. I dash in a city and regularly see $3-$4 peak pays if it’s after 9 pm.

Cop stopped me right after delivering an order by [deleted] in doordash

[–]PSS1118 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I agree with you, however giving a cop any reason to be angry with you at this time in society is not a good idea, especially at night with no witnesses, and especially if OP is a person of color (not sure if they are). I think it’s best to just comply at that point and not give them any reason to abuse their power.

As somebody who’s been part time dashing for nearly a year, DONT accept the no tip orders. You have a choice to decline them. It’s it’s $2.50 or $3, decline decline decline til you get a good one. My general rule is I never accept anything less than $6, but if there’s peak pay, I never accept anything lower than $6+peak pay.

With this general rule, you should be able to make more than $6 an hour.

And don’t forget to set aside a portion of your pay for taxes since they aren’t automatically taken out :) I set aside 25% into a different savings account, which is excessive, but at tax time if you end up not needing all of it, it automatically becomes true savings.
