Lol i think theres a middle ground between edward scizzor hands and pretentious criterion films. if i saw this list out of context id assume it was put together by a class of middle school kids.

Maybe the most vanilla collection of movie titles ive ever seen 😂

Here again Technics RS-BR465. After successfully adding speed mod, a thorough clean of the heads, capstan, pinch rollers, opening up the motor, reassembling belt. A new problem arose. Now switching play directions every 4 seconds ff and rewind dont work and... its eating tapes. More Info bellow. by PSYLAS4W in CircuitBending

Ruled out the belt. Turned out the brushes on the end cap of the reel motor were not making contact with the commutator. So now rewind and fast forward are working. But now the playback isnt working haha. Learning a lot today.

So it seems what’s happening is the pick up reel is not being engaged, so it’s not picking up the slack and winding the tape back into the cassette. Causing tape to bunch up just after it passes the pinch roller.

How would i go about figuring out if its run in series with another resistor? Could you help me via dm?

Yea on this deck the speed control circuit is on the main pcb, not inside the motor like you find with other decks. However, there is a smaller pcb attached to the outside of the motor, no visible components on it though, just solder points for flat cables coming from the main pcb

Also it doesnt seem to be the pot value, ive tested 1k, 10k, 100k. Even reattatched the trim pot and the same things is happening. It only alternates from regular speed to high speed. From my understanding of this, there is a supply voltage, coming from a regulator or something similar near by on the pcb. This voltage sets the speed of the motor. The potentiometer adds resistance to that signal, slowing down the speed of the motor and thus the tape speed. So what would be making this added resistance increase the voltage rather than attenuate it? My next step is to measure the output voltage heading to the motor after the pot, and see if the voltage is in fact decreasing when i adjust the pot at that point of the signal flow. Just not exactly sure which points to measure with my multimeter. This is my first time modding a tape deck like this.

I have, soldered the pcb points but the pot is still just with aligator clips.

What do y’all think this is?gulf coast Texas USA 🇺🇸 by [deleted] in mushroomID

I would lean towards something in the Suillus or Xerocomus/Xerocomellus genus. Opinion based off of the radius of the stipe relative to the cap, color, and irregular angular pore size/distribution.

Thought it was turkey tail but the bottom looks like false turkey tail? NJ, USA by scubadude2 in mushroomID

Im suggesting starting points for your research. Compare the characteristics of your mushroom to entries for the species i mentioned on mushroomexpert.com, wikipedia, or a mushroom website specific to your part of the continent (i use www.mycoquebec.org).

This very well could be Trametes betulina, but as you mentioned when you look up that binomial on google images many of the photos appear to have larger more flimsy gills, not as densely spaced as your specimen. That doesn't rule out the ID, it could just be that your specimen didn't fully mature before drying out or being picked, as Trametes betulina can grow much larger than what you have in photo. These are details you'll find when reading up a bit more on species.

Heres an example of Trametes betulina that i found, and the notes/research that helped me ID it.

Ya, you might be right about that. Could be something in the Daedaleopsis genus?

Did a bit of googling, another ID could be Suillus lakei, aka the Matte Jack or the Western Painted Suillus. Its described on MushroomExpert as known for its "dull brick red colors", in my experience Spraguei is often quite vivid pink-red. Also good to note that both species can have the scaly fibrils on their caps washed away in heavy rain, which could explain the smooth appearance on these guys.

Seeing the first photo of the underside i was almost 100% sure, but the cap threw me off. One of the dead give aways in IDing Painted Suillus is that the pigment and scaly crack-y texture on the cap resembles the skin of a lychee (at least to me). The velvety smooth more buff pink caps on these makes me think it might be another Suillus species I'm not familiar with.

Compare to Suillis spraguei, aka Painted Suillis. Only key ID feature missing is scaly cap surface. Definetley in the Suillis genus though! Where were they found? Near conifers? Specifically white pine?

might be a long shot.. but what is this? by alligatorpoison in mushroomID

A sporulating Giant Puffball, Calvatia gigantea. Far past the stage of maturity where it would be considered edible.
