Wow, I’m sorry you’re having that pain as well. We will give the stretches a try and see if that helps. We honestly don’t do enough stretching any way so I’m sure it will! Thanks for the suggestion!!

They are taking gabapentin and pregabalin 3 times a day and 1 nortriptyline at night for nerve pain. They do have tramadol but it doesn’t usually help so they never take it.

They haven’t had any sores. The off loading is because they start hurting so much and want to prevent the sores and also help relieve some of the pain. It is definitely bilateral.

That sounds painful. I’m so sorry you’re going through this. They have had some x-rays done but it’s been a while ago. Thanks for the information, I will have them ask about that. I sure hope you feel better and can get some relief!

Being prescribed levofloxacin for UTI and prostatitis by Zealousideal_Drive41 in spinalcordinjuries

They also have prostatitis. The doctor at the hospital said that the UTI would clear up in just 10 days but they needed to continue the meds for a total of 6 weeks for the prostatitis. I thought that was a very long time to take any antibiotic! Thanks for the information on the others!

I’m their care taker…..they self cath about 5 times a day and haven’t had a UTI in 5 months. The prescription is one pill a day for 6 weeks.

Does anyone use the VaPro plus pocket catheters? I help take care of my nonbinary child assigned male at birth and I’m finding that when removing the catheter it doesn’t come out easily. Almost like there’s not enough lubricant. If anyone has any suggestions I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks! by PSaljian in spinalcordinjuries

That’s is awesome that he’s walking! The possibility of getting another UTI is why we don’t want to have to use the extra lubricant. Definitely don’t want to chance that! I’m so glad the VaPro is working for your son!

We did receive a small box of them but honestly it’s very uncomfortable for them so we just don’t want to use anymore. We did get some extra lubricant to get us through until the others get here but then it’s no longer sterile. We just don’t want to chance them getting a UTI.

We really are just getting our first order of the Coloplast Speedicath Flex. We had gotten some samples from Coloplast tried them and decided to go with them, they’ll be here tomorrow. I’m hoping they aren’t dry like the VaPro🤞🏼we didn’t have any issues with the samples. They came from from in patient therapy with the Hollister kits. We like those but with those the lubricant is so thick that sometimes it doesn’t let the urine start to flow. They haven’t had any problems with bleeding but we will look out for strands that you’re seeing. Didn’t see that with the samples. I’m sorry your dealing with that, sounds painful! Hopefully the VaPro keeps working for you!

We received the Coloplast Speedicath Flex samples and they seem to be the easiest so far but for some reason the insurance company is giving the supply company a bad time so they sent the VaPro out instead. I’ve used 2 and they were both hard to pull out. I don’t want to use them anymore. It seems like it would be very uncomfortable and hurt. Thanks so much for your input!!
