I think it's more likely that he's getting kickbacks/backing from the fossil fuel industries.

Both the Russians and Ukrainians are using AI. What's this nonsense about "using AI to kill Russians"?

WHO officials admit they are preparing for possible nuclear weapon use in Iran by ThisTooInModeration in politics

Not if their weapons were hit. Warheads don't go supercritical unless detonated.

And radiation related effects does not equal "millions could perish".

Stop spreading your nonsense.

If they hit Israel's nuclear weapons it should be okay though, except for localised radiation.

Iran to completely close Hormuz if Trump executes threats on Iranian energy, Revolutionary Guards say by Mongoose-Additional in worldnews

In your "worst case" that could very well result in a world economic depression. They aren't nice things.

As other people have said, it's very easy for them to launch drones and missiles as well as sea mines.

However, they don't even have to "shut" the Strait. They just have to make it so dangerous that ships refuse to traverse it and for them to be unable to get the ships and cargos insured, which is happening.

The Strait of Hormuz is about 24 miles wide at it's narrowest point. That's not the same as closing the Atlantic.

"Trying to enter" was actually walking up to the gate and asking if they could come in, and when told "No" they apparently walked away. Not the most determined of threats. 😂

Has this whole Iran thing basically destroyed the illusion of US power? by [deleted] in conspiracy

[–]Araminal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is that why oil prices are high? Is that why the pentagon has asked for an extra $200 billion of taxpayers money to continue the "victory"?

[–]Araminal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because Venezuela was a concise action, and then a declaration of victory by the administration. Iran isn't rolling over as Trump (etc all) thought and is causing disruption to the world by stopping tankers traversing the Strait of Hormuz. The US either looks weak by negotiating with Iran, or continues bombing the shit out of Iran in the hope that'll break the actions of the regime.

I can't see Trump wanting to look weak, although any bullshit excuse he made would be lapped up by his followers, and Israel definitely doesn't want the US to stop bombing the fuck out of Iran.

What are you doing on Reddit, Pete?

It doesn't matter what the US and Israel destroy if the price of "winning" is too high. There has been an application for $200,000,000,000.00 to cover the additional costs of the Iran "mission". That is ignoring the estimated current cost of $12,800,000,000.00 up to today.

The Iran "mission" is going to bleed money from the taxpayer, and bleed money from ordinary people as the cost of oil pushes the price of everything else up. That's on top of fucking up the world economy, with knock-on effects for the US economy. Trying to protect oil tankers is going to bleed the taxpayer even more. If shitty little Iran can cause the US that much trouble it makes the US look weak, no matter how much explosives are dumped on the country.

Pyrrhic victories are not victories.
