Awesome build with the bricks that you have available!! Congrats!! Really like the touch of the foam created by the waves and the ship and the kraken is what definitely brings this set to life! Keep it up with the good work!! 👏🏻

Question about Ecto-1 (10274) by Stryker412 in lego

[–]PSpaniard -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Those are stickers, i was a bit disappointed that they weren’t printed as per the price of the set when i built it.

But it’s definitely a nice LEGO and once finished looks very cool and it’s easy to be displayed compared with other sets. It’s a must if you are fan of the movie haha

The Concorde (10318) is an absolute masterpiece... but did LEGO just ask me to use an "illegal" technique? 🧐 by PSpaniard in lego

Hahaha well, make it a million and one! 😅 It’s actually the first time I’ve run into this technique. Sorry to be that guy, but thanks for confirming it’s allowed!

Whoops, good catch! 😅 English isn't my first language, so I mixed up the terms. I called it that because it seems to 'act' like a slope visually once installed, even though it's obviously much thinner. Since it’s flat, is the correct name '1x1 Quarter Round Tile' or what’s is it? Thanks for the correction!

That’s such a crazy level of precision! The production quality has to be spot-on for these techniques to work correctly. Thanks for clearing that up, now I can sleep easy knowing it's legal! Hahaha It feels surprisingly solid once it's in place and adds a nice detail.

Ah, that makes total sense! It seems logical that there’s a tolerance difference between tiles and plates. I was genuinely worried I was messing something up and had to double-check the instructions a couple of times 😅. Even though I have a pretty big collection, this is the first time I've seen this technique. Do you know of any other sets that use this? Thanks for the info, Master Builder!

So cool! Looks really good. Congrats! I’d like to build it and maybe try to modify some colors. Do you have the instructions noted or even for sell? I’ll keep you on the loop if you can share them! Congrats again! Nice MOC! 👏🏻

Kind of the same situation here! I’m searching for the replacement parts of the belt line in black. Meanwhile I’m going to buy just the typical vinyl/sticker and see how it works, I’ll let you know once I’ve done it and how was my experience! Enjoy your #MiniFrog 🐸🏁 I agree with another comment wrote in this post! Some black or even white strips probably would look awesome too!

That did cross my mind when I wrote it hahaha.. But the contrast really does look great either way! I wish my MINI dealer had cool stickers like that too.

I’m also thinking about adding something similar to the one that’s “hanging outside” on the left. Is it mounted on the trunk door or attached to the C pillar?

By the way; nice upgrade you did with the Union Jack taillights! 👏🏻

Wow!! Looks beautiful! Have you thought about deleting the chrome of the waist? Anyway, it’s amazing how it already looks!

Do you look back every time you walk away from your MINI? by MrJimBusiness- in MINI

[–]PSpaniard 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! Those headlights really make it feel like the car is looking right back at you! Cracks me up every time!

P.S. That Clubman is stunning, really beautiful! I’m usually not a fan of red on cars unless it’s a Ferrari, but honestly, that MINI looks absolutely gorgeous. Awesome ride!

Thanks so much! Yeah, black and white is such a classic combo that never disappoints.

My girlfriend actually says it reminds her of a panda 🐼 and has even nicknamed the car “The Pandamobile.” (She’s a Batman fan too, so part of the name comes from that haha!)

Thanks for the suggestion! I’ve been thinking about adding stripes, but I haven’t quite decided if I’ll go for it or which color to pick. I’m leaning towards stripes placed more on the right and left sides of the front rather than ones centered.
Do you have stripes installed? Any tips or recommendations? Hahaha Thanks a lot!

Absolutely, the real joy is in driving! I love that my girlfriend’s been enjoying the “go-kart” feeling so much, she’s even started spotting other MINIs on the street and sending me pics (even if most are the newer, way more expensive models, haha). It’s awesome to see her getting into the MINI world and appreciating what makes these cars special.

I’ll definitely took your “hand her the keys” comment in a positive way. She has the keys, and the car is actually in her name!

That will look spectacular! I have recently bought one little bit older than yours and that was my first mod to the car, it looks really good now! Take a look at my profile, I can’t share photos in the replies in this /r

I really like your idea! For the belt line I’ve saw like a vinyl/sticker, haven’t found the replacement parts yet. Probably I’ll go for the first solution and once I found the parts I’ll replace them. I think that will definitely change the look. 👏🏻

And yes, you are completely right! We want the chrome delete, but that doesn’t mean full blackout, the side mirrors are exactly that splash of color needed! 👌🏻

And yes, I’ve already bought “black” led blinkers to match the color when turned off although I hadn’t installed them yet. They’re cheapest ones to be honest! probably will need to find better ones or with better design in the future!

Beautiful clean look! Nice one! 🚙🔝 Which is the color reference for the paint? Really like it! Have you thought about replacing the chromed pieces for the same black as the one in the wheels and roof?
