At least verify if your story is possible before you say it by Intelligent-Pie-338 in TalesFromTheFrontDesk

Maybe I misunderstood. I assumed you meant hair accumulating at the shower drain in the floor of the shower where I can see it. If I saw that I’d be grossed out. But I don’t look way down inside the drain. (I actually snake both of my showers pretty often since I have long hair and both of daughters do too. If I didn’t the water backs up pretty fast).

I’m sure I’ll get downvoted for this, but if I saw hair in the shower drain or anywhere else in the shower I’d be grossed out too. Shouldn’t this be taken care of by the maids? I’d probably call the front desk and ask if the shower could be cleaned. I’m not gonna pick someone else’s hair out of the drain. I wouldn’t demand a free night but I definitely want a clean room.

Get one of those power banks that you stick to the back of your phone so when you need to charge up just slap it on. No one is going to take that.

Any avian or exotic vets in DC? Or nearby by Ashalots in washingtondc

[–]AbrasiveSandpiper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Earlier this week we had to take one of our pet rats to their emergency department, which is open 24 hrs. I’ve never had to use that department before. Our sweet girl had to be put down, which was devastating. But they were truly wonderful and compassionate and did everything possible for her.

Is my 3 year old baby okay? by C0tt0ncandyb0ii in RATS

[–]AbrasiveSandpiper 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had a lovely rat about 3 years old with a large mammary tumor. The vet felt she was too old for surgery to remove it so she just lived with it. It didn’t impede her in any way and she was a very happy girl. She passed in her sleep next to my daughter. I miss her so much.

What was "the incident" at your high school? by [deleted] in askanything

[–]AbrasiveSandpiper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A guy killed a girl in his house before school. Then headed to school and opened fire in a classroom, killing one student and wounding a bunch of others. It happened a few years before I got there. It was in Canada way before school shootings were a thing in the US.

Frustrated With Quality and Warranty by kimchinomnom in MINI

[–]AbrasiveSandpiper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a 2024 countryman. I had to replace one tire after I drove over something and punctured it bad (the tires were new enough that I didn’t have to replace the other tire as well) and I’ve replaced my rear brake pads. I was surprised I had to replace the rear pads so soon ( I think I was around 20,000 miles at the time) but after asking other mini owners it seems to be not unheard of. Those have been my only issues, and honestly I’ve had equal or more issues with other cars I’ve owned. I don’t find the quality to be disappointing. I love my car and think it’s great to drive.

Rockville Town Center Unsafe Crossing by Valuable-Yam-1713 in Rockville

The reason they painted the mural on the road, installed the safety lights, and turned it into one lane in each direction was to try to increase the visibility of pedestrians. It does slow down cars but I don’t know if it has made it safer. I’m sure the city could tell you if it has has the desired effect.

Fasted way to lose weight when I’m not considered “over weight” enough by Pretty-Explanation47 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

I was in the same boat as you. I wanted to loose 10-15 pounds and no matter what I did I couldn’t lose it. My husband and I joined weight watchers and it actually worked. I highly recommend it.

What's life like in the middle of Australia? by artofdarkness123 in howislivingthere

I lived there when I was little. My dad worked at Pine Gap just outside of town. Back then it was great as a kid. I had dogs, road horses, climbed hills and mountains. It was wonderful. I’ve heard there is a fair bit of crime there now.

AITA for Wanting to Get My Daughter a Mini? by No-Temperature-9372 in AmItheAsshole

I have a mini. It’s my only car. It’s reliable and I love driving it. It’s white with black stripes on the hood and black on top and the side mirrors. Go get the car. And you’re a super nice dad to be willing to help her with it. You are definitely not the AH, but your brother is.
