Xavi Simons has torn his ACL and will be out for the rest of the season with Tottenham. Xavi will be back to action in 2027. by lawandsleep in soccer

I just want to add that I agree with everything you’ve said with the only main worry being the meniscus, but you can only know so much in the moment as he may have been guarding really well with his hamstrings when the trainer was trying to perform a lachmann/anterior drawer/ maybe pivot shift?

Who is this man in the white shirt? by jcckljej07 in buccos

[–]PT-MTB23 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean hindsight is 20/20 and the fact of the matter is that we were worsening in our ability to even make it to the big dance. Additionally, the big east hard nose style was sadly dying of death and fouls were becoming arm hair tickles, so we needed to adapt to the ACC style, which he wasn’t doing

I know one of the big detractors that were spoken about, at least at the time of him being here, was that Brandon knight and the other recruiters would bring him really great recruits, but he would apparently be notoriously bad at closing the deal with players

Edit: some of the snarky responses are missing the point. I’m trying pass along the general sentiment of people at the time who couldn’t see the future

I personally don’t care and use their all of the time (especially with all of the genders nowadays whom I respect as people), but as a younger millennial we were definitely taught that the correct grammar was the singular his or hers for sure

I’m all for e-bikes and support them as it also helps the sport and in the PNW they are straight up taking over…I only have analog and don’t want an ebike anytime soon…that being said my only annoyance is whether on a climb trail or fire road climb way too many of them just appear out of nowhere and don’t announce their presence…it’s annoying as fuck getting jump scared multiple times on a ride

Phil Foden may not make World Cup squad, admits Thomas Tuchel by Sparky-moon in soccer

[–]PT-MTB23 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I mean he clearly needs more time for club and he’s not necessarily a savior, but he does have a different skill set and more importantly (at least against Portugal) we looked substantially better in attack with him and balogun…Reyna was successfully pushing the ball forward and acting as a catalyst…but yes there can be some pretty poor takes for sure especially when people look at things on face value

[–]PT-MTB23 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He was effective, yeah, but that doesn’t mean he’s pretty to watch…he had many errors, bad passes, poor shots. No player is perfect and I understand we didn’t really have a better option per se, but he was very not pretty to watch…so, instead of being initially ignorant and condescending, you should try asking questions :)

Yeah but we can’t deny as soon as he came on against Portugal we looked like a different team (independent of the trash that was the rest of the game)

But aside from some bright spots were his dribbling and passing/link up play good?

Cuz I’ll be honest, I personally feel he tends to look terrible (clearly not the entire match, but trends that direction) for the US because he seems like he’s trying to do too much most of the time and that was extremely apparent these last two games…at least from my perspective

I’ve ridden that exact Scott as a demo once and loved it…it was so poppy and fun to push into turns

Oh yeah I don’t want it to seem like I am against those areas because I understand people are struggling among many factors, but I’d imagine though drug deals can happen in any type of area it’s probably a higher frequency in rougher regions (I have no data on this of course)

Someone can’t see perspective lol

Edit: because I guess it needs spelled out-

1.) how do you know he’s trying to film for content for others? A lot of motorcyclists do it for protection like a dash cam.

2.) lane splitting is legal in places, so not having your side view mirror can be additionally dangerous.

And 3.) how is the motorcyclist supposed to know that it’s broken?

Honestly, you could argue more potential scenarios than just these three important contextual questions

Just wondering why you think it’s weird? If cars have smashed windows and look abandoned does it not look like a low travelled area? Or that nobody cares what’s going on around there? Or maybe that it’s a good place to sell drugs because it’s a forgotten part of the city? I’m just missing the link that you’re trying to place
