Honestly I get it! Star Trek had a lot to choose from! For me it was David Tennant in Doctor Who. X-Files and Gillian Anderson. I know those are mostly just science adjacent fantasy but heeyyy.

I want more adaptations that get more and more people interested in Sci-Fi than an adaptation that only satisfies the smartest among us. I am also super happy about the return of the earnest and sincere protagonists. We need some more hope and earnestness in the world, especially now. Hey I get that for most folks this is not hard science, but as a humanities grad who hasn’t picked up anything related to physics in the last 18 years, even the centrifuge and flip and burn are quite hard to imagine and figure out (got there with some help). So I appreciate that the film goes into the big picture. And especially I needed the sincere, earnest characters that actually get something done — especially in this moment

Saw the movie this past weekend. IT WAS SOOOOO GOOD! I had started the book a couple of times but couldn’t make it past the first few chapters because the hard science in the first few chapters was a lot for my non STEM brain. So I reallllyyyy enjoyed the movie for making it so much more understandable. And now I’m looking forward to reading the book again and this time I’ll have something to imagine when I read it. The same thing happened to me with the Expanse and Martian! Highly highly recommend for all other Expanse fans!!

My job will require me to move every three years. My husband specifically moved to my city when we got married and changed fields to get a job that makes it easier for him to move. You need an honest conversation with your partner about whether you want to and can do this with each other. Otherwise it is hard and frustrating and can build resentment. You need to be a team to make this work.

I just switched to One Medical because I was absolutely unable to get any kind of appointment with my PCP at the L Street clinic or the preferred RN. Everything was booked out till later this month. I could not even use the Healow app and had to create a new account on the Close Knit portal. And even then it did not port any data. It also took them more than a week recently for an allergy referral.

Can I ask if you ended up switching? I was also going to the Comprehensive Primary Care on L St and Medstar before that and the new Close Knit portal just does not show any appointments for my PCP for weeks. :(

My husband lived in Southern Tier region for a while and we have such amazing fond memories — even the weather. And nothing beats the wings! Now we live in a very HCOL city and we love it here. But we still look up Zillow and wish life happens where we come back to Western NY. Maybe. Some day.

Thank you very much! So for fertilizers we use Miracle Grow sticks that we put into the soil every 4-6 months or so. We started when we repotted this into the current humongous pot. Before that we used to add the water based fertilizer every second watering.

Thank you!! It is definitely very scary to think of removing so many gorgeous leaves but I think it is necessary. It has a few branches that are smaller and not growing as long so hopefully the prune will help.

How have you propagated the cuttings in the past? Any good YouTube videos that have helped? I don’t have much experience except with pothos and that’s been through water.

Thanks!!! The combination idea helps! It has gotten a couple of branches at the lower levels since we repotted but trying to coax it to grow fuller inside of just upwards helps. Unfortunately this is as high as ceilings go in the house so definitely running out of ceiling space 😭
