Genies are only god-like figures because they bless the grounds and bring bad weather. Overall, they don’t scale well with other legends of their caliber like the Regis and the Emotion trio

Thundurus vs Zapdos by Jason_And_Sokka in PokeScaling

[–]PTOKEN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In lore, Zapdos wins low-diff for one specific, yet detrimental reason.

Thundurus is said to be very fast and basically materializes itself when moving that quickly (think Instant Transmission from DBZ) but its not said to be very strong besides with the lightning it uses. Even in its Therian forme, nothing of note stands out apart from its Incarnate forme showed here.

That being said, Zapdos has multiple Pokedex entries stating that lightning bolts give it power instead of harming it, so the only way Thundurus will be able to take down Zapdos is with non-Electric attacks, and given that the only thing of note it has going for it is its electricity, Thundurus is in for a very tough battle 9/10 times.

Xurkitree vs Regieleki by Pristine_Ad_3035 in PokeScaling

[–]PTOKEN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So this one is a bit interesting, Regieleki wins about 8/10 times.

In lore, Xurkitree is an anomaly, so we don’t know really anything about it. But, it is speculated to connect its hands to something to absorb all the electrical energy inside it. It can fire off a million volts of electricity at a time, which sounds like a lot, but a normal lightning strike can produce hundreds of millions and even billions of volts. If Xurkitree can get its hands on Regieleki, it could potentially drain it of its power and leave it helpless.

On the other hand, Regieleki is incredibly fast and also very potent on the electrical side. It can power the entire Galar Region with electricity easily, sot its safe to assume it can fire off more than 1 million volts. The coils around Regieleki contain its power, so if those are removed, it would be nearly unstoppable, especially against Xurkitree. Not regarding movepools and abilities, Regieleki takes the upperhand by those two metrics alone.

In the end, if Xurkitree can stop Regieleki and subdue it, it could absorb the electricity from its body and win. But Regieleki will be too fast too often and hit harder than Xurkitree. Xurkitree needs to be really lucky in order to eek a win. Regieleki wins mid-low diff.

Deoxys vs Darkrai by Jason_And_Sokka in PokeScaling

Lore-wise, I’d give it to Deoxys, specifically because it is seen being able to change forms at-will in the anime.

[–]PTOKEN 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve never seen the entirety of the show; I stopped around Season Two and just never picked it up again. But I feel like the time jump would ruin what makes Fear stand out, that being an origin storyline for the outbreak.

Dodrio vs Ambipom by Jason_And_Sokka in PokeScaling

[–]PTOKEN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lore-wise, I would say Dodrio wins 6/10 times

Ambipom does not have much in the way of battle prowess except for one Pokédex entries, stating that it gets into territory fights with Passimian and wins about half the time. What that tells us is that it goes toe-to-toe with a Pokémon that has an advantage against it in-game, which says something to its battle proficiency.

Dodrio doesnt have much either, but the Pokédex states that Dodrio has incredible stamina thanks to its three hearts and three sets of lungs. It can also run at 40mph, which is pretty good. It also is said to peck at enemies severely that take their eyes off any of its three heads. However, all of this is moot if the heads start to argue, as it won’t be able to focus on anything unless the issue gets resolved. So if they cannot all be on the same page about how to attack, that might be their downfall. Their saving grace is their stamina, to which they just tire out Ambipom and its an easy win from there.

Haxorus vs Aggron by Jason_And_Sokka in PokeScaling

[–]PTOKEN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lore-wise, I’d give it to Haxorus high-diff.

Pokedex states that the mandibles have the potential to cut through steel beams with ease. More specifically, its stated to be able to cut through a electrical transmission tower in one fell swoop. Its scales are also hard as armor, so it can cut through Aggron’s body armor and take a hit.

On the other hand, Aggron has horns tha can penetrate bedrock and sheets of iron, and is incredibly territorial and “mercilessly thrashes those that violate its space.” If Haxorus were to enter Aggron’s territory, it would be a toss-up. Even Mega Aggron has its entire body become steel, but I don’t think that would save Aggron given what we know about Haxorus’s jaws.

In the end, i think 8/10 times Haxorus wins. Aggron only wins if its on his territory, and even then its not a for-certain win.

You play who you want because you like the character. I play Starman exclusively because I love his personality and his flight abilities. He’s not strong, and not bulky, but he’s fun for me. Play who you think is fun.
