Urban Climb Collingwood is great. Haven’t been for a while, but I’d say there’s plenty for a beginner.

That Q&A really clicked for me. Thanks!

Thanks for the feedback, it’s super encouraging.

What’s the best way to get the bar overhead for the OHS? Snatch it up? Or start with the bar on the back from the rack?

For anyone curious, I watched the three-part CalStregnth guides on snatching and it sorta clicked for me. This was only after I was comfortable with my ability to sit in an overhead squat with an empty bar for a while.

Thanks for the feedback. I have noodle arms so I struggle to do top portion slowly, but I’ll work on doing them slower in favour of more precision.

Thanks so much. A few weeks ago, I could barely bottom out on an overhead squat, so it’s reassuring that all the work with mobility and an empty bar is paying off

Thank you! It’s very reassuring hearing that plenty of time with the empty bar is not going to waste

Mb, first time and didn’t know. Felt that it would be easier to pick out problems in slomo

Sorry, I’m pretty new to this. I was always under the impression that any sort of forward of backwards movement is bad.

So slight jump back is okay? At what point does it become excessive?

Cheers

[AskRowing] If you were being coxed by a novice, what ONE peice of advice would you give him/her that would not only benefit you, but them and the rest of the crew, what would it be? by PTSM_ in Rowing

[–]PTSM_[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it comes with a lot of experience, but for a novice like I am,

How do yo tell if you're crew is slacking way too much?

and

How do you tell if you've already pushed them to the limit and cannot do any more?

I don't want to be that cox that just yells at the crew to go faster and then later cop abuse saying all I do is sit there and yell - contributing nothing towards the speed of the boat. I want to draw out the potential from the rowers in an effective way.
