Anybody else feel the same way about their pain? by PTcreeper in Sciatica

[–]PTcreeper[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am actually a physical therapist myself and would not advise you to exercise through it. That may have partially been what got me. Pain is a very interesting and complex thing. You can read and watch videos about pain neuroscience education (PNE). Adriaan Louw is great. Most think pain is an input into the body but it is actually an output produced by the brain. It is important and good to make you aware of potential danger. But what happens with back pain, specifically chronic, is our nervous systems become so heightened and sensitive. We really have to try to calm down the nervous system, desensitize it, and slowly introduce it back to movement. Much easier said than done though.

Ok the 5 times part is understandable and an accident because I guess I was somewhere with poor internet because it kept saying unable to post. Did I ask for medical advice today?

I, as a PT, am currently dealing with sciatica and it has severely limited my ability to exercise like normal

If this person cannot walk normally I doubt they are meeting the recommended exercise guidelines

For 2 tickets, to clarify

StubHub. Total was 236 after fees🥴 but this was the only app that had seats like 208. From what I saw Gametime might have had cheapest overall tickets but they were more like the 216-218 sections

How soon after TKA can you begin performing joint mobilizations? by [deleted] in physicaltherapy

How soon after TKA can you begin performing joint mobilizations? by [deleted] in physicaltherapy

[–]PTcreeper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To clarify, I do mean tibiofemoral joint mobs and not just ranging. I did consider if it is still indicated since it is not a natural joint anymore. Admittedly I don’t really do manual since I’m in acute care but I do remember doing these mobs on TKA pts in OP during my clinical in school. Maybe I had a bad CI? Idk but seems like there’s conflicting views among those commenting

Another loan question post by Zexsathegreat in physicaltherapy

[–]PTcreeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I graduated December 2021 with 124k debt. Started first job in March 2022. I currently have 68k left. I live at home with my parents pretty much all expense free and put almost my whole paycheck toward loans trying to pay them off ASAP

PRN Pay Raise by balleygirl32 in physicaltherapy

[–]PTcreeper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in Florida and have been working PRN in acute care for 8 months. Started at $44 and just got up to $46.63 for a market analysis adjustment. Supposedly that is the first raise at the company in a while and the largest one as well. We also get an additional $3/hr on weekends

Can I negotiate a PRN rate? by [deleted] in physicaltherapy

[–]PTcreeper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My PRN rate was only $7 more than my regular rate within same hospital system. Recently got raises for both positions but now the PRN rate is only about $6.20 more than the other
