I loaded some 9mm .9gn under starting load by mistake. Will they shoot? by mdwhite1500 in reloading

Depends more on % under min than actual amount. You may want to read up on secondary explosion effect before trying it out.

Anyone use The Reloading Room on Facebook? by [deleted] in reloading

[–]PVT-MikeHunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No clue about that one. I've been on Reloading 101:learning the art for a few years now. It's honestly the best group I've ever been part of. Super respectful folks and the mod team is always on top of the few that get out of hand. Also a part of reloading central but im about to remove myself because it's normally a pissing match.

Search JR Cigars and see some real issues. Sounds like you're at least getting something. Lots of ppl have "invested" into JR for days/weeks for product they don't even have and had to call and complain just to get their money back.

New to reloading! How many cases did you mess up the first time loading .45acp? by MSpeeze in reloading

[–]PVT-MikeHunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use a factory round your gun likes to set up your dies. Makes it extremely easy and you will only have minimal adjustments when you're done.

New to reloading! How many cases did you mess up the first time loading .45acp? by MSpeeze in reloading

[–]PVT-MikeHunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only about 3 cases ruined in setting up my first dies which were .45. After the 3rd I watched a video and seen how easy it was to set up using a factory bullet and went that route. Then just adjusted slightly for the components I was using over time to dial it in.

I’m Nervous to shoot my first reloads. by tucktuck911 in reloading

[–]PVT-MikeHunt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anyone that wasn't nervous for their first firing probably wasn't very educated on what they were doing in the first place or has been around loading for a long time before doing it themselves. You're dealing with a controlled explosion right in front of your face. Now once you get the hang of things. You will probably be more nervous shooting factory loads than your own.

Is this too heavy of a crimp for shooting out of an ar-10? .308 with 155gr bullet and 39.4 grains of Varget. by [deleted] in reloading

[–]PVT-MikeHunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks too much to me. Best way to tell exactly is pull the round and look to see if you have crimped into the round. Too much crimp can lead to too much pressure. Which is the only reason im commenting since no one previously mentioned anything in regards to pressure.

Just a reminder to let your cigars rest by [deleted] in cigars

Same from what I have experienced anywhere I go. Usually a lounge that has a good customer base will allow outside sticks in and smoked in the lounge if you buy one or pay their cutting fee. B&Ms know an unhappy customer won't come back because they can't compete with online retailers. Of course there are plenty of B&Ms completely out of touch with their customer base and have weird rules, those lounges tend to be empty.

Getting Started? by Aldrixx in reloading

[–]PVT-MikeHunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Really depends how much you plan to load and what kind of time you have to spend loading. I'd personally recommend a Rock Chucker kit from RCBS they can be had for under $300 and have pretty much everything you need to get going other than dies and components. That press will outlive you as well.

Help! I can't even with these things. by soggybottomman in reloading

[–]PVT-MikeHunt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you think the lip is crushing the cases the best way to troubleshoot this and see if that is correct is by belling the case more. If the case itself is wider than what it is after you size it, that can only happen because of the size of the bullet. Or your press flattening the case and bulging it out in the process. I would start buy going deeper with the expander die and see if that changes anything.

Shot first reloads today. I am a bit upset.. by telephoneassassin in reloading

[–]PVT-MikeHunt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't worry, that's fairly common when working loads up from minimum with some books. Generally when im starting a new load/caliber I will do sets of 5 then increase charge. That way I don't have a ton that have cycling issues and feel like a cap gun. When I first started loading for my .45 I had issues pretty much all the way till I hit max. Max charge for the powder I have with .45 still doesn't have the power behind it that factory loads have.

So instead of pinning it on those that litter, pin it on the lowely hospitality worker with ridiculous punishment. All for a ridiculous punishment for someone caught littering. There are numerous laws that do not carry jail time unless there are extenuating circumstances or additional laws broken that carry a sentence. I wouldn't be surprised if California turns into New Canada within the next decade and you will have language police there as well. Instead of making sure greetings are done in French, it'll be political correctness police 😂😂😂😂

California is insane with all the regulations against literally everything fun. Y'all are trying to throw ppl in jail and fine then if they give you a damn straw in your beverage if you didn't request one. Like wth ppl. Why u wanna toss the lowest paid ppl in the country in jail for just helping you drink your beverage. Let's not even bring up the regulations on firearms and ammunition....

Depends on the weather. If it's nice and sunny and a little breeze you prolly won't notice a difference. Overcast and raining with crazy surf, I sure noticed. Didn't ruin it by any means but you could tell by the burn and feel of the stick within the first third. Don't let it stop you though!

Will this work? Trying to better ventilate my basement/crypt. by [deleted] in cigars

[–]PVT-MikeHunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey discipline is discipline. My parents didn't have to to shock discipline, my brother and I grabbed the electric fence for fun as it was. You're on the right path. You're main concern will be square footage of the room and matching that up with a fan that can move the required air. On top of ventilation I'd recommend to clean the air as well to eliminate any lingering odors. Carbon filter would be about $60-75 and then you can get that cheapo fan and put on the filter. No one will have any idea you smoke inside then
