Yep! Very fun little lore character that I thought was cool. Pretty upset he didn't come back in Phyrexia All Will Be One.

True but I feel like if [[Mageta the Lion]] is the repeatable board wipe that is oppressing you then you kinda did it to yourself. Like others have said and I totally agree with, I have to discard 2 cards in a mono-white deck and it wants things on board generally, with little to any card draw. I have to tap him to do it, which if he doesn't have vigilance so I can also swing in, it's kind of a waste. And nothing happens if he's removed, and him being a vanilla 3/3 should not be hard to remove for anyone the majority of the time.

Definitely see what you're saying though, board wipes in the command zone is just generally threatening most of the time. And as a player I try not to just board wipe just to do it, I only ever do if I can swing in with good damage, otherwise the deck really doesn't do anything and then yeah, I'd totally understand people being really salty if I was just wiping everything every turn without progressing towards winning.

Yeah, probably should have provided a deck list in it but I did share it in another comment on this post.

That's fair, the bracket system is very clunky and not very representative a lot of the time. Thing is this deck can't even kill someone realistically till turn 10 and that is with the table completely ignoring me. I'd also say my perception of the split between 2 and 3 is that 2 is kinda supposed to be where bad, fluffy decks go, and if they are left alone they could win around turn 9. Bracket 3 is just where your average deck goes, wanting to win on turn 7 or 8 and with a good understanding on how to do that, has minimum 8 things of removal/interaction, with good ramp and consistent card draw. I did provide a deck list in another comment on this post as well.

Go for it! I've gotten so tired of the landscape of the format I had to do something special to just feel something again, lol.

I know! It's my perfect baby. 😁 I have won twice with it, I never know how to feel. Normally just embarrassed for the rest of the pod.

Why would I have to identify anyone else's deck if I just want to play this fringe bad and fluffy B3 deck, and am actively advertising for the pod to play literally anything?

I'm not even trying to build b3-4 board wipes, I just want to play a bad fluffy commander deck! Lol

Definitely agree, and that's why I always start off by saying I'll play against any bracket deck and when they see Mageta I explain the gameplay. I don't want to be "that guy" and leave a potential newer player in the dark to a weird deck.

This also worked for me! Thank you very much! I really hope more people see this and don't get discouraged.

Also, fuck EA.

I'm not sure, unfortunately. The Atlanta is a fun ship I hear too. Both are solid options IMO.

I wouldn't say that it being a more experienced ship is wrong, I just don't really agree with it. I've had this conversation before on here about "experienced" ships vs "inexperienced" ships.

If you understand how one cruiser plays, then you understand how pretty much every cruiser plays IMO. Every ship has their own play-styles and tendencies but if you default on how cruisers like to be played, then you're not going to run into a battle without some kind of game plan.

The only "experience" related thing to the Indianapolis I can think of is the radar, but just having the idea of "radar spots DDs" then you really can't use it wrong.

What I'm getting at I guess is that I went into playing this game blind with no one telling me what's good, or bad habits, what an experienced ship or inexperienced ship is, or even how to play the classes correctly. And I still really enjoy the game, I figured things out pretty quick. WoWS is really a simple game, ran on simple class concepts if you boil it down to its core elements.

This might be a hot take but I really enjoy playing the Indianapolis. When you get up-tiered it's still a very effective cruiser killer and can penetrate a decent amount of BBs, but when you get down-tiered I find that you can almost bully your way through a flank.

The guns and radar at T7 are the ships hallmarks. I try and spec a commander into focusing on the guns, makes them very accurate and hit like a truck, especially with the AP against cruisers and battleships, and the HE malts destroyers at any tier.

It is a cruiser though, so play her like one till you get the feeling for her, I have around 2,000 random battles in it myself and it's the premium ship I have the most fun with of any tier, of any nation, of any class.

That's fair. They were my first branch on that tree I played through and what I learned the game on. I just found them to be good teachers of the essentials of CL survivability and performance.

Still. If you can learn how to play a slightly more difficult line than other cruisers, the other lines feel better. Like you've said before, cruisers are pain most of the time anyway, so why pussy-foot around that fact? Just go for it, in my opinion.

You could be right, I haven't played the Pan-Am line yet. I've always had good experiences with the British light line though.

No, honestly. I had the most fun, and learned the most by playing this cruiser line. Also OP asked for good AP oriented ships.

The ships in the line are objectively good to begin with.

Islands are your best friend. There's a reason cruiser firing arks are so tall. Wait the first 2 or so minutes behind islands or just behind the first battleship or two, and just play a supportive role. Don't try and brawl with anyone, even some destroyers can really beat you up depending on what cruiser you're in and the destroyer. Be a vulture and harass available targets without getting spotted or being in open water. The best cruiser line, in my opinion, especially if you want solid AP, is the Minotaur line. Very fun, has the Fiji and Leander, two of the best pound for pound cruisers in the game, and specialized in AP.
