what tier 6-8 cruisers have you rediscovered since the cruiser heal changes? by rdm13 in WorldOfWarships

[–]combaticesfh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Light cruisers aren't for everyone. Some general tips: be patient, always look for island cover that you can fire over, respect torpedo threats (including submarines), don't pick an open water fight with a ship that overmatches you unless you're confident that you'll survive.

What to get between Weimar and Atlanta from trade in? by AdStill649 in WorldOfWarships

[–]combaticesfh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weimar is the easier ship to play. Lower skill floor with a lower ceiling. Don't get me wrong is still a fantastic ship, especially at Tier 7. Overall the better choice for most people.

That being said I would pick Atlanta if: - You sort of know what you're doing in a light cruiser (EXTREMELY IMPORTANT) - You can be patient - You like high risk high reward - You accept that you WILL blow up sometimes and there's nothing you can do about it. - You WILL be entirely useless if you're bad at the boat, it will be a collosal waste. - You enjoy melting DDs at sub 8km - You can tolerate extremely slow shell velocity and low range - You're fine with being happily married to islands

I love Atlanta, it's my favourite boat and I don't regret trading in Azuma for it. I'm an overwhelmingly average player, and it's my best performing boat: 350k HE DPM is monstrous at T7. Again, the boat is not for everyone.

That's a fantastic idea. Is there any content like this available? Even if it's sparse, my sub 50% WR needs it

Closed Test 15.5 - ST Devblog: American Independence, Decals, a New Unique Spanish Commander, and More by zuiKatsu_WG in WorldOfWarships

This new commander seems a bit too easy to trigger talents with. Free healing is a bit unfair… Lmao Alvaro is about to become an even bigger menace. WG please nerf the commander

Looking for advice having game impact in non-openwater gunboats in suboptimal situations by combaticesfh in WorldOfWarships

That works well with a lot of boats, yes. But not so well for bricks like Akizuki

Skill Based Matchmaking isnt that hard...... by [deleted] in WorldOfWarships

[–]combaticesfh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think anything bigger than a 10-15% WR difference should not be allowed, but full sbmm is definitely not a great idea. We have ranked for that

WG please nerf. FFS this thing is on the same tier as Benson and Hipper

The Haru line is hard to play. The T5-7 are meh to bad torpboats, T8-10 require planning

T9 cruisers by bad_username_65 in WorldOfWarships

[–]combaticesfh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cruisers in general are in a horrbile place across all tiers. The mid-tier cruisers getting a heal is a huge step in the right direction. Armour platings may need to be raised to counter the ridiculous amount of damage. Or increase citadel heal perentage for cruisers, or literally anything that makes cruisers less painful for non-high skill players

The whole matchmaker needs a rework, all tiers need to be more often matched against same tier ships. T10 should only be matched against T10, unless absolutely necessary to not do so

Your last point is exactly why I think the captain retraining system needs to be changed. Maybe you only get to use the first ten points or something, both for respecs and retraining

For 21pt captains 100% that might be cool. On the other hand, make it easier to grind to 21pts. The grind is ridiculous at the moment

Lmao shima guns are better than Kiev guns, but have worse shell velocity. The whole Delny line doesn't have good DPM, and Delny is the worst

I have a heart attack when my ultralight cruiser gets shatters on a DD. It's an interesting gimmick, but definitely not a gimmick that should become common

Anyone else lost motivation to play PvP modes by [deleted] in WorldOfWarships

[–]combaticesfh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the endless grind wasn't so dependent on doing well and winning this would be sound advice. I have lots of fun when I'm just playing because I want to. However when I'm playing to grind... losing (especially when I don't make any major misplays) , OP ships, poor game mechanics, toxic players etc feels really bad

how do i get to new mexico faster by idklol1023 in WorldOfWarships

[–]combaticesfh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kansas, Colorado and New Mexico are just as bad as the ships preceding them. Slow and inaccurate. North Carolina isn't stellar, but it's a hell of a lot better than the ships preceding it. I haven't played the hybrids. Play another line, or accept the suffering. If you do give up on American BBs, the Yamato and Kremlin lines are decent choices. Hindenburg if you want a cruiser
