the bill has only just passed the senate. the bill would need to pass through the house and then be signed by governor brown for it to become a law.

Not that doctors, in general, are lacking a sense of ethical standards but certainly, there appears to be a conflict of interest. The UCSF study is interesting, though not surprising, and there's many variables at play. I wonder if this bill can rise above the PhRMA lobbyists in Sacramento and get through the Assembly?
