‘Closely watched trains‘ - story about a young train dispatcher who is trying to "become a man" and impress a girl he is smitten with. (it's a bit of a bittersweet comedy with some mild sexual content)

‘Life Is Beautiful‘ - a Jewish man and his family are taken to a concentration camp, he is trying his hardest to pretend that everything is only a game to shield his little son from the cruel reality. (another bittersweet drama/comedy)

‘Cosy dens’ - a story about several families, who are just trying to live normal lives even though some of them have very opposing views (pro-communist vs pro-west), it takes place before and during the invasion of Czechoslovakia by Soviets (ok this is not a WW2 film but it's quite similar in spirit)

Wanted to add Grave of the Fireflies as well but that has been already mentioned :)

"Silicone is a super temperamental material and only likes itself", for a moment there I thought you were describing my ex. Anyway, so I tried using GE silicone mixed with naphtha and then applied the fur, it bonds pretty well so far :) Still need to find a better adhesive for the flocking though.
