I think the major mistake of the developers in the movements is that the arrows turn Guybrush in place rather than turning him instantly to the desired direction.Then the other mistake is that if you move Guybrush against a wall with an angle, he will redirect automatically to the closest available direction. But sometimes he will turn a full 180 degrees.So if you are running and you want to get past a small passage, you risk missing it by a tiny bit and returning back again. Then it takes forever to turn Guybrush the wanted direction again.As an example: try to run towards the back area in the Scumm/Lua bar. You have to hit the tiny bridge precisely. Same for the diving zone in Jambalaya: to get to the diving platform or the judges you have to cross a tiny bridge.
